Seth's skiing ability as well as any other well known big mtn skier is so far beyond your skiing potential it is not even funny. I get so fucking sick of you fags from Michigan and wherever else that think just cuz you can throw a gay 7 over a shitty table that you are something special. Get a clue dude. The day I see you bomb down a 60 degree pitch going mach 2 and throw a lincoln or backflip off a 50 footer is the day I'll eat my words, but the chances of that happening are nil. You'd most likely piss yourself if you got dropped off at the top of any intense line.

I could go on, but you are a waste of time. I'd advise changing your views of skiing, but to tell you the truth, it's all good cuz while you stay out there at your faggy-ass hills, there is all the more pow to be had for those of us who enjoy it.

well i accomplished my mission of the day, haha. i'm sorry i don't like all the same stuff as you guys, but i'm not a sheep. seth is in a league of his own in big mountain, and i have nothing but respect for him, but if people are going to go on a newschool website and say stuff to try to piss off kids who ski park, i'll bring it back. don't take everything you hear on the 'net to heart. it's just words, girls. there's a lot of stuff that i like, but i can admit is far overrated. not to get off topic, but it's like eminem. sure, he's got some ill flow, tight beats, and catchy hooks, but it's downright silly how much play he gets.

hey DOGHOUSE, ignorance is bliss, huh? i never said i only ski park! it's outrageous to even say that. i can't ski BIG mountain because I live in michigan but I have had a pass to the closest thing in the midwest, which is Mt. Bohemia, every year. We get an average of 240 inches of snow a year in the upper peninsula, which is all lake effect, which makes for great powder skiing and cliff riding, our only downfall is our lack of elevation. my favorite thing to do on skis or snowboard is hitting booters into powder. skiing powder is fun, but since it's useless to have fat skis (i'm also in college and poor) in michigan i actually have more fun snowboarding in powder. i like to ski park because not many people do it up here yet and it also helps with bmx riding. the only reason i'm still in michigan is because i'm getting my degree in civil engineering from one of the best engineering schools in the nation, michigan tech. soon as i'm done i'm moving out west for sure! do you honestly think i believe michigan is better? hell fucking no! but i make the best of what i have and the kids up here deserve just as much respect, because we're at more of a disadvantage. don't jump to conclusions, man! if i had the money, i'd be riding the dank shit, but until then i'll be here.

seth is sick but otherwise i dont like watching big mountain. it just gets boring, it would suck to be someone like hugo harreson caue sure its fucking awesome for them when there filming it, but to anyone else its like 'oh cool... he straight lined a steep face'. park, urban and bc booters are the future

clueless you are monkey boy...the fact is that ALL of those big mountain "overrated" skiers can destroy MOST sponsored park skiers in the park...

skiing park for money sucks...it hurts and you have to deal with crappy conditions and poor set ups...what seth does is the epitome of pro-skiing...getting to ski the best lines in the world on someone elses budget...

believe me...MOST park rat pros would give their left nut to have the deal that seth has...when they get good enough to progress beyond rails and table tops then they will be welcomed into the big leagues...

1.) Doghouse, you ignorant piece of shit, please learn how to read! I said powder was boring to WATCH. I love skiing powder, but I don't want to PAY to watch some other dude have the time of his life. I want to see people do stuff on the kind of terrain I have available to me, that I can't do.

Powder everyday would get old, just like skiing park everyday would get old. I like half bc and half park most of the day and urban when the lifts are closed.

3.) I don't huck, and I didn't hit an icy table at all last season, and I put 85-90 days in. So sorry pal, just more ignorance.

4.) You haven't hurt my feelings or changed my mind at all, so please don't even get that notion.

5.) ONE LAST TIME...Seth is sick, but if you don't land it, it doesn't count. I was a bmx rider long before a skier and that's a golden rule. Plus, if you can't ride mountains, it's pretty hard to stay interested in them, so f f f f fuck off.

He is right, most Backcrountry skiers are awsome park skiers that just got fed up by the whole scene. Comps suck, most people want to film, such as pollard, Seth Morrison.

I agree with the guy who says seth is overrated. There are 3 things, in my opinon, that are essential to being an amazing skier. First thing is ganrliness, or liek how crazy and difficult something is. Seth is definitely up there in this category.

Next is smoothness, flow, originality etc. Seth is terrible at this. he has No flow, he never lands, he doesnt really desver to be in a video without flow or landing.

Next and most mportnatly is STYLE. Seth direly needs to have style. His style is heinous. THis is all opinon.. but common....

If you wanna see sick big moutanin, then sart skiing lines switch, start pulling switch cork 5s off cliffs. Start pushing like pep, stay away from seth.

^he isnt a jibber, he's a big mountain skiier, and he's one of the only big mountain skiers whose form i respect coming from a racing background, which means alot to me. any dumbass can strap on some 105s and ski some ugly powder turns, but seth rips it, and he stomps most of his hits, so i dont know what you mean by he never lands. also, i think it takes alot more balls to get dropped of on a 55 degree peak with 360 degrees of exposure than to point it at a 70 foot table, or a 100 foot bc gap, which also means alot to me as far as his credibility as a pro skiier goes. and you cant deny the fact that he is well rounded, he might not have great style in the park, but he can keep up to most people, whereas you can;t even talk about most of the park skiiers big mountain skills in the same sentence with seth.

yep, i can guarantee that all these people who discredit seth have never skiied anything that isnt lift serviced or in bounds, or over 30 degrees steep for that matter. its the same thing with how people hate on racing, if you havent done it, you cant hate on it.

sounds like MSP got all Mirammax and Harvey Weinstein'ed out. It happens to a lot of people and companies in a lot of industries. It is very easy to persuade money guys and sponsors into thinking someone's content blows and much harder to convinced them that something is dope. Once someone gets there foot in the door it becomes easier to black ball then it does to produce something that people will buy. Some good examples, Underground hiphop and the rise and fall of Rawkus Records. Harvey Wienstien, Miramax and their fortay with the Independant film industry.

I sort of agree with that, except that you CAN hate on something when you can't do it, because that argument is stupid and people should stop making it. However, in this case, hating on the thing in question is just plain retarded. luckily most of the comments are being made by 14-15 year old kids who will, I pray, come to their senses in time.

 
I dunno... OK, he led the way thats great. I respect him. But right now... there's just much cooler things to watch goign on in the backcountry. Big mountain skiers aren't really significant to me unless they are doing tricks with style and progression on teh way down. Or unless they just rip liek hugo aha. Cause thats just sick. But like... pep... sage... tanner even has style going down in the bc and drops cliffs landing switch and such, but obviously he cant ski as well as seth, ha. There's CR, Pollard, there's sooo many people... But yeah, its true that Im just not a pure biig mountain kind of guy.. but the movies are newschool movies... SO I think it should be jibbin in the bc, cause thats just the sickest thing ever.

Yearbook is the best ski movie. plain and simple. Yearbook still has the insane cliff base jumping drops, and insane crashes and jumps but still has the sickest park scenes.

Hate to break it to you, but if you wanna go pro you better get good at big mtn skiing because thats where the sport is going. The best skiers out there are the ones that can take it from the park to the moutain. Tanner Hall is a total fag but he even knows where the sport is going, even though he blows at it he started taking it to the Big Mtn. It takes a much better skier to ski big mtn than to ski park. Not to Bag on the park but its really not skiing its more like jumping and sliding rails, the park doesn't even require a skier to make "decent turns" it only requires to hit a jump and grind a rail. So quit ripping on msp because you can't even rip as good as the guys ( and chicks) on msp.

Most likely, You will go make up a story on how the skiing industry has a conspiracy with msp. Seriously it takes a total fag to make up something so worthless as that. Just ski and quit complaining. Or complain if you suck at skiing. Your choice.

Personally I barely even set foot in the park even on shitty snow days unless there's a feature I'm dying to hit, which is rare. Levin, from whom a bunch of the MSP-damning info in this thread came from, posted at one point that he doesn't ski park at all anymore, just pow. It has nothing to do with us not being able to rip like MSP riders, and it has everything to do with their company's higher-ups being a bunch of ass pirates. I mean, fuck, Seth can't stand working with them, C.R. can't stand working with them, and another big name from big mtn whose identity you'd recognize, but which won't be divulged feels likewise... Are Seth and CR just jealous of the ridiculously weak lineup they have left outside of Hugo, Abma and maybe 3 others if I'm feeling generous? Don't be an idiot. By the way, Yearbook sucked ass after Abma and Rainville.

^I don't know how much racing gates on big mountain is going to be a part of the future of the sport. The future of the sports is with all these unknowns that are incredible skiers and with people pushing the sport. The future of the port restes int eh hands of the athletes. It is the production companies and magazines that are obligated to show that progression.
