Don't Buy Dynastars, heres why

there's only been 1 ski ever designed specifically for rails and that was the rossi pow air grinds. the edges under the boot were sunk into the base so you wouldn't get edge rip out

SKIER'S IRRESPONSIBILITY CODE

skis will die, but those troblemakers sucked this year. i saw 3 pairs that the edges had ripped out on in a few weeks of skiing. the bases are really thin and weak too.

my k2 fujatives held up much better than the majority of dynastars ive seen. i beat the shit out of the edges sliding rails, wore them right down to nothing, and they still havent torn out. the public enemy has the same kind of construction edge-wise as well and i havent seen any edges torn out on those either. my fujatives did have a problem with the bindings ripping out once, though

Someting close to that, but to a less extent happened to my Candides. I am still skiing on them though because they are only missing ~12cm of edge and I am broke.

i wonder if dave or the phils had any troubles?

i have dynastar troublemakers, and yes, my edges have ripped out, and my base is hacked up, but the troublemakers are the nicest ski i have ever skied on. i have skied on the majority of skis from this year and without a doubt, the troublemakers were the nicest. although they have fallen apart, and i need a new pair next year, i think they have been a 'worthy investment'. i strongly think that the quality was worth the sacrifice to ski such a nice ski.

i do agree that dynastar should seriously invest in coming up with a better design for next year and the years to come, and chances are i will continue to support dynastar.

go with Pe's they are a bit stiffer and a bit beefier but hold up so well on rails, edges are built a lot stronger

buy dynastars if you want the dopest pipe and jumping ski not if you want some pieces of shit to trash on rails

i love how kids buy skis only to hit jumps and pipe..... Buy skis that will do everyhing morons

skiing sucks

^ that has nothing to do with the quality of dynastars.

and why would someone buy all mountain skis if they only ski park. and last time i checked, you can ski twin tips on the rest of the mountain.

obviously twins aren't going to be as good at skiing fast as a race ski, but that doesn't make them bad all over the mountain...so being meant to ski in the park has nothing to do with quality

Theres a thread about some kid having the next years troublemakers (laroses) and the edges ripping out after a month or two of skiing. So they haven't improved I guess.

i think if they want business they should do a recall and really fix their shit.. i mean how many peoples have fucked up? i got rid of my BC's because i thought they were fucked so then i got the TM's.. and they were more fucked than my BC's in like less than a month

all companies have the same warranties, except 4frnt basically. most companies dont warranty rail damage. and your so called 'race' companies jsut have more money to throw around for you. small companies cant afford to give free skis away. and your race companies put shit loads of money into research to make the most tech skis out there. the only problem with them is they are hard to get a hold of. a rider company is cool because of the clique feeling you get from buying into them. it is cool to have rare shit but who really gives a fuck, this isnt high school, we arent trying to make an image, just ski. when a small company goes big half of you go out and hate them( LINE). and line does not have a 4 year warranty. my friend had some skogens that delamed the frst week he had them so they warranteed them and then half way through the year they blew apart on a 180 and they wouldnt warranty them because it had already been done.

^i dunno man, line has an awesome warranty. i had my 1260s for over a year and they warrantied them because the edges were cracking and breaking.

my concepts arent nearly as bad and they're straight up rail skis. all edges still intact with a few cracks

pilots do it high

backing up what liam said. anyone who is complaining about the trouble maker sucks fuckin discharge ridden cunts. i broke my pes in 4 days, the TAIL SNAPPED IN HALF. and the EDGE BROKE. ive had trouble makers for 2 years in a row and never lost an edge, and i have 1 crack after an entire season of abuse....probably 100 plus days. the trouble maker is hands down the best park ski ever. and maybe if ur tearing the edges out you shouldnt be on them on what ur riding them. go ride some lines and realize the shittyness. and YOU DID NOT DO THAT IN 1 DAY U FUCKER.

there's a reason its called snowboarding......it's snowing!!!

I think the overwhelming concern with many of people in this forum is that the TMs are good skis but they break for most people. A fellow Dynastar rider that I ski with has ripped out edges on two pairs in two monthes. He is sponsored by Dynastar so you can't say that he 'doesn't know how' to slide rails. Which is a laughable excuse for edges ripping out anyway. The bottem line here is skis should last one hundred plus days like smuggs here skis (which is not that much for a dedicated skier) Dynastar just needs to strengthen their skis, thats all.

-ben

dedication only goes as far as the conditions u ride buddy. and 100 days of rails in anyones book should be plenty. altho the skis were free anyways. i dont feel that i got jewed.

they have soft edges, dynastars that is. same thing happened to my concepts, only the edge went into my base and made a bubble. so i sed fuk it, bought some fujative, and did some grass skiing with my dynastars. now they house a huge gash core shot with the fuked edge.
