wow i must be a either be a wuss, i got the crappy rossi scratches cuz im poor, and all i got in 1 season is some scratches and small chips on the topsheet

ive got armadas and there really durable except for the top sheet but i dont care about that.

the fell off my car like a week ago on the highway and they only got a couple scrapes on tip. one of my friends snowboards fell off on the highway once and it was totally destroyed, so id say armadas are probably better than most. and 1080s are shitty.

ive said it before, my '05 AR5s are missing about 18 inches of edge combinded, and the edge is trying to rip out on the front tips of both skis, and the base is fucked on the front tips too

but i still like them

 
All skis out there are durable and good, it just happens that luck of the draw you will get a shitty pair or land the wrong way it happens to all skis, everyone hates on line, ive got 2 pairs now that i have pretty much destroyed for 2 seasons and theyre fine, no edge cracks, no horrible delam problems, skis break deal with it.

 
man i love mine but one complaint is the top sheet is super brittle and also they seem like they are just plain weak. I got a huge scratch on the bottom of mine and it went into the core and scraped it? I dont know how i did that but i dont care they still are amazing when im riding them

ya I'v had my armadas since they first run of them and i love um i don't ski varry hard but i'v still had um for like a season now and there like mint

 
Whatever you guys, I work in a the warranty department of a Major Shop in Montreal and I see lot's of stuff. Won't you just quick bad mouthing Salomon and other big brands...

All skis break alright. Not one brand more then the other.

I'm so sick and tired of reading you bash stuff like Salomon.

The only thing I have to say is when it comes to warrantees Salomon stands by it's stuff and will replace then if they need to be waranteed. They are leaders and it's not because they break more then anything else.

I feel for the kid who wrote this because I've had to deal with situations like this with Armada.

Just be careful the smaller guy isn't able to do as much. Armada is our #1 skis on the combustication list.

 
i can get old AR5's from last year at a store..for $400 cdn. do you think i should do it..or is it too much for a last year pair?

I have both ARV's and AR5's from last year. The ARV's have well over 120 days on them, hard crashes and rails & boxes. They are in very good shape for what i've put them through, the end metal cap things have fell off though. I just got the AR5's and they have about 20 days on them and are holding together just dandy!! Maybe it's just because i know how to ski? anyway, i'm going to buy two new pairs of armada's next year because i like them so much.

 
Yeah, I've rode my ARV's super hard. Other than some core shots that would have happened to any other ski, and some minor topsheet chips, they're fucking awesome. I love em.

I'm kinda neutral on my Ar5s. Only had them a few weeks. So far, they ski amazingly well (kinda suck on ice, but what soft ski doesn't), especially switch, and the edges hold up really well. The bases, though, are really thin and really soft, and it doesn't take much to rip a gash in them. I've got 5 core shots (2 major ones, 3 minor ones) in them thus far, from rocks and sticks, and I haven't been out of bounds much on them at all. That and a whoooole bunch of scratches that didn't get through to the core. Pretty soon I'll be skiing entirely on clear p-tex. I don't know if they'll last a full season... I think if I keep them in the park they'll take longer to utterly destroy. These are the 03/04s, by the way.

i hope you're joking. Armada is by far the most progressive and illest company out there. I beat the shit out of my 03/04 AR5s constantly for a year and there's nothing wrong with the edges or base. The only problem I ever had is that the tailplate ripped off on both skis, but it turned it out it didn't affect riding at all so I didn't bother sending them back.
