darko's a dope movie but i simply don't understand this site's obsession with it. its cult and its a phenomenon, but there are plenty of other ones out there too. its just kind of bizarre thats all.

song of the week to download: 'going up the country' by canned heat.

Jimmie Dimmick: 'I'm not a cob of corn, so you can stop buttering me up. I don't need you to tell me how fucking good my coffee is, all right? I'm the one who buys it. I know how good it is. When Bonnie goes out shopping she buys SHIT. Me, I buy the expensive gourmet stuff because when I drink it I like to taste it. But you know what's on my mind right now? It AIN'T the coffee in my kitchen, it's the dead nigger in my garage.'

I just watched it again.

Nice to see there are people out there who might be more mentally fucked up than me and Skipimp... when I think about it, in his place, I would have preferred the 2nd chain to the first. The one night of understanding over all that confusion... it all came together. We all wish we had that. What if you could go back in time, and take all those hours of pain and darkness and replace them with something better? He did find something better, after all. Nothing.

The reason it's such an obsession around here, a question posed above, is that Donnie can be related to in many different ways. My respect for Drew Barrymore was multiplied a thousand times upon seeing it. It's such clarity embodied in film... pure beauty, what a film should be. There are no intended messages, but there is content. Clarity. I just watched it again, and I know what I want. Nothing.

...plus, it's probably amazing to watch that movie when you're baked.

In a haze

A stormy haze

I’ll be around

I’ll be loving you

Always

Here I am

And I’ll take my time

Here I am

And I’ll wait in line
