how do they work??? How much are people donating?? What are the donations put towards?? or are the site makers just getting beer money when we donate??

 
they go towards the server expences and clothes and stickers and all.. i dontated 2 bucks cuz thats all i had but matt will take anything.. all you have to do is get his address from the donate part of the site from the main page. thats what i did.

They go straight to the bar when they get a 'donation' and drink it all away immediately.

Donations are used for everything we need to keep the site running. The more cash we have the more we can do with NS. So many things are in the works right now but it can't happen with out cash. We will be happy with any donation at all. Thanks for the support guys.

Ya, a while back, Harvey basically had to start asking for donations, because he was $3000 in the hole from site expenses. He was funding the site with his own money, that he had worked for. SO basically, you are donating to a cause that keeps the site alive.

how can site expenses be 3000 bucks??? i have websites too and they dont cost a penny to maintain.

 
cuz your site probly sucks and you dont have to pay a lot for large servers

SUPilot, Harvey needed to purchase a new server because the other one was not only inadequate, they kicked the site off due to the massive amount of bandwidth. This site needs a dedicated server, which costs a lot of $$

Being Irish, I guess I should resent the Notre Dame nickname 'The Fighting Irish.' After all, how long do you think nicknames like 'The Bargaining Jews' or 'The Murdering Italians' would last? yeah there is a full computer to pay for plus hosting costs, and when you use 300 Gigs of bandwidth every month it gets expensive. Plus we try and get you guys everything you ask for like clothing, stickers, and any other ideas for the site.

I'm sure that Harvey wouldn't mind straight cash. I hate having to BUY money from the post office... damn money orders. Anyway, and if you don't want to directly donate, you can help out the site by buying stuff out of the store.

all that and harvey's been paying for this site since he got kicked off of the free servers. which is around a year and a half ago.

yep, the ads do help us run the server and offset some of the costs but Harvey and I both work on this enough for it to be more than a full time job. Since we spend so much time on it, we don't really have time for lots of other jobs to make money for basic living expenses.

It would really help us out if big companies would realize the potential of Newschoolers.com but so far not many have.

dude, this site does cost money... In case you dont realize that little PHP on the end of your browser address, that is expensive. And if you dont know what that means, go look it up
