Hey NS,

So we need you to donate any music that you have made yourself or own the rights to!

Your music could be used in "First!!!", the NS Ski Movie.

Prizes:

We will be offering some sort of prize to those selected for the movie.

Also, if you happen to know a lawyer that knows a lot about creative rights, please let us know, we have some questions for them.

dammit, my buddy made a dope song that i can't find right now. if i find it i'll give him a call and ask him if you can use it (he'll have no problem with it).
 
well girl talk is completely illegal because he has no consent from the artist, so thats a bad idea

but NGP (Next Generation Poet) is on NS he makes some dope shit
 
i must not be a hipster like all of you, but i fail to see the allure of mixed songs... and yes i have listened to girl talk, i hated it.

i make some pretty sick beats on my keyboard that i could donate i just dont know how to tranfer them to my computer. does anyone know how?
 
I have been talking with boony and he is in the process of making a song especially for the NS movie, all i can say is its going to be sick, You just wait!
 
i got a friend that makes some sick techno beats. let me know if you want them. im pretty sure he can make the beat however you guys need it. slow or fast im sure he can do it.

How do you gain the rights to music? Does this mean you can't just buy a CD from Wal-Mart and use that music. It seems like you would be able to because the NS movie is free.
 
Girl talk isnt illegal at all.

The fair use policy of the united states copyright law lets you use unlicensed samples.

But besides that he would have gotten his ass sued straight to hell already if it was illegal.
 
it's a bit more complex than that dude, anytime you use music free or not, you have to have permission from the artist or label, as simple as that, buying rights is more expensive than just buying a cd at wal mart
 
just submitted a couple songs, hopefully more on the way. is there a deadline for submissions? also, would you want music from non-NS members? i have some friends that make great music.
 
yeah i had a jibberish edit up on my facebook profile and i forgot to credit the song so i got a notice from facebook saying they had removed the edit. its kinda funny i guess. i could have gotten in a lot more trouble but yeah rights are rights and we need them.
