Donald Trump running for President

i cant imagine why you would PM it to strangers but not post it on a forum.. must be some top secret shit!!

and im not saying that donal trump knows nothing about this country, im saying your claim that he is what we need to save this country/he would be a good president is wrong

so let's see that research that proves us wrong please?

You're wrong.

Here is what I would do if I was President.

Tax everybody 50 percent of their paycheck regardless of how much they make. Then I would use all that money to build really nice roads, like super slick, fast roads. I would then advertise the fuck out of the nice roads to foreign countries. When tourists came to use your roads, the locals, Americans, would charge them 45 dollars a gallon for gas, but it would be worth it because of the nice roads. Then after a year, I would lower taxes to 1 percent because their would be enough money from the nice roads to keep the country running smoothly for the rest of my term.

Sure you can PM it to me but for purposes of this thread please post it here.

Unless you have some CIA files I am willing to bet there is little to nothing you can tell me about the blowhard that I dont already know.

I could tell you something about you don't know......

His penis is 6.33 inches when fully erect

I fully support Sarah Palin.......

In the decision to make a porno. I can come to just a picture of her face

well you said blowhard, so i took that as Thomas Mackin. He lives in my town and his penis is 6.33 inches.

meanwhile all the mechanics bob employs make 12/hr, and the cleaning crew are illegal immigrants. everyone around bob is severly struggling paying their bills. but thats just the way it is, dont like it quit. but you cant quit, cuz you have bills to pay.

then soon bob realizes now that all the competition is out of business, he can raise the price of a transmission repair to 800 dollars. employees dont need a raise, bob needs his fleet of cars. then soon bob realizes that if he gets a good accountant he wont have to pay any taxes.

thanks bob!

I never said that rich people are evil. I guess you haven't yet learnt of the utility of comparison, because if you did you'd see that there are many first world economies that don't give the top tax brackets huge breaks... and guess what! Rich people are still being rich and doin the shit they do...!

I think the government has a powerful sway over the opinions of people, especially in the United States and starting with the Reagan revolution has conned the American people into thinking they are helping their society, and themselves, by helping the elites of society swindle them out of money through a process of cultural hegemony that they use in order to subserve the general public.

Your right, because your ideal model... which is the shining example of the United States does so well at avoiding social inequality. Thanks Bob! Could you imagine what would happen if the rich didn't get tax breaks... economic meltdown!

I could imagine all the backroom discussions that would go on in the White House... fuckin poor people...

wealthy people have a significant impact on our economy. Most likely, these wealthy people own businesses, so they generally employ a good amount of people. Also, if they are getting taxed more, they have to spend less on luxurious like cars and homes and boats and that stuff, which impacts those companies. When those companies start loosing business, they start making cuts due to low profits. People begin loosing jobs and income as a indirect movement of the government taking money from the wealthy and business owners.

I know... I know... things like "social inequality" sometimes get a bad wrap for being immoral and such... I guess I should have said that your shining example of the United States does a really good job at helping the poor through an extremely economic balanced system. I don't think anyone here is advocating a system of wealth distribution that you seem to be hinting at by pointing at my supposed lack of historical knowledge. The level of social inequality in the United States is laughable, and I know their is an irrational fear of the rich (Peter) having to give his hard earned cash to the poor (Paul)... and thats fine, but if I return to using the utility of comparison in countries that do see a little more social redistribution, which is a bad way to put it, because that redistribution is usually seen in the form of civil institutions that are there to help people who need them, not literally hand them cash as you want people to think... you would find that people actually do live pretty good lives... of course, we don't want the public to know this, because then the rich will get taxed more! and that would badddd... very bad.

oops "would be bad"... sorry I know how grammatical errors on an internet forum completely make my concepts unfathomable!

Being that this thread has taken a turn towards an economics debate lets find one thing most of us if not all of us can agree on. Trump gave this world one good thing:

I completely understand your theory and agree with your theory. I also maintain the fact that it simply hasn't worked for the last twenty years.

"look at me I'm woozy and I have to make myself look smart on the internet do I'm just going to go ahead and insult your intelligence, correct your grammar, and type up walls of text"

I respect your views and I actually like you. Don't make yourself look like a dick. 10/10 by the way...

Sure... if you look at a number of first world societies that see a significant amount more wealth redistribution than the US you will also see significantly higher living standards- think Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland ect....

Can you provide me any proof that trickle down economics actually works? If your going to reference the mess of a country economically that is the United States I suggest you don't waste your time as I am sure you are aware of the massive amount of academic literature that would say otherwise. Anyways, keep on believing what you do... I don't really care, its good to Canadian!

And here we have what is called an opinion.

"The

poor must accept big cuts in Medicaid and food stamps; the middle class

must accept big cuts in Medicare (actually a dismantling of the whole

program); and corporations and the rich must accept big cuts in the

taxes they have to pay. Shared sacrifice!"

Surely if (as) the trend of the rich making more and the poor making not as much continues, the divide between the rich and poor will grow larger, and the richest few will own the vast majority of the country. Would this not result in them being ever more capable of controlling the masses in various ways (through media/lobbying etc.), thus widening the gap even more...?

Let's think about it. Yeah, your solution of unjustified "stealing" would be viable if we lived a one generational existence. However, we don't, and the reality is that people are never given the same opportunity.
Also your industrial revolution example is absolutely terrible. Any place in history with a manufacturing basis and vast pool of resources like the US had at that time is inevitably going to boom. Without labor unions permeating into the market as they were necessary at that time, only a few people would have seen the standard of living increase.

i love watching kids criticize donald trump. i dont care who you are, you cannot just become worth $2 BILLION by being a "mediocre businessman"

You know that you are not going to be in the top 1% right?

Labor unions and the new deal created the middle class. You can believe whatever garbage you want that is the truth. Labor unions are the reason that you are here.

You could argue that of late labor unions have become too powerful and made American manufacturing less competitive, that is because there are pools of slave labor in other countries where you can pay a kid 10 cents a day to make soccer balls. If that is what you want the US to be (1% of the population outrageously rich, and the other 99% unable to advance) then you are correct in everything you say.

Corporations don't care about people, trust me I have worked for plenty. They care about the bottom line. If they can get the same service for less money then they will do it.

There is a balance, and the gap between rich and poor is growing. Look at CEO pay. You really think a CEO is worth 300 times more than an average employee? No, they get the money because they control where the money goes.

I meant the solution that you call "stealing". Sorry.
It's a fact of life? Well then it's also a fact of life that people in the lower echelon are going to desire the same opportunities that others get. Some blow them and slug welfare yes, but a lot of people with potential get screwed over in life because of native geography. See how that logic is a fallacy? It's stating something unilaterally that there is no point in saying.
Again, the investors primary source of capital that was used for re-investment was the abundance of natural resources. Without this and the exploitative behavior towards other countries we would have never had this great capital worshipping class that you seem dead set on proclaiming to be our saviors. Then you also need to consider how the life expectancy and "standard of living" dropped drastically for the common man at the rise of manufacturing in the US. Albeit temporary, there always has to be something exploited to gain that rapidly.

Obviously I know the difference between natural resources and capital. Because we had no taxes? You actually believe that? You don't think it had anything to do with the huge abundance of oil, coal, and multiple other cheap energy sources? I do. I think it had everything to do with that and a huge population with unlimited land. Also the Civil War's manufacturing basis along with multiple other factors. We could sit here all day and play the what if game, however, there is absolutely no way you can blanket the development of such a large scale with a statement like because we had no taxes. That is insulting to anyone who studies economics with an open mind and doesn't subscribe to an outdated lassiez faire philosophy.

well also keep in mind that we had just won a war and that people were willing to take risks with all of their money. 'the era of ghood feeling' people were much less protective and cautious with money
