Oh, and they couldn't be more friendly (almost too friendly at times..), very high energy (they were bred for field trials shit so we asked for it haha), and very loyal. Sweetest guys ever.
Labs are some of the easiest to train/lovingest dogs around. Any type of lab is destined to be a good lab as long as he is well trained. My white lab is a pimp. I'm just really sad that I don't get to see him for another four months cuz I'm 10 hours away at school.
Get a border collie. We got Nik from a border collie rescue. He was found wondering the streets. We had to teach him what a ball was, and he was scared of everything. But now, you wouldn't even know. He's really well trained and smart as balls. YOU NEED TO TRAIN THEM PROFESSIONALLY though. We had a border collie before this that we didn't train for real, and it just isn't as nice. We trained him, then even did some agility with him and won some medals! But really, you need to get some prefessional training, they can train any dog. And you need to do the kind where YOU do the training in a class, with an instructor. Don't send you dog to someone to train them.
My parents actually have 2 general poodles. They are big, and they live outside in the woods. Sometimes we don't cut their hair and they look like bears. One time I gave one of them a mohawk and she looked like mr. T. My mom was pissed, but couldnt stop laughing. We kept the haircut for a month or so.
This is Buckey, he a lab too and 9 years old. He's really nice until he sees a tennis ball then he goes insane. He likes walks by himself and tennis balls.
I forgot to say Ringos a pussy and he chews only my things, like 3 pairs of shoes, my ski boots, cell phone charger while in the wall, and my Schooled hat (I didn't pet him for a day after the hat.)
Border collies kick ass, but I wouldn't advise it unless your very active and have a big yard or open space available. Two of my friends have them and bred them, they both trained their own dogs and they are very smart and behaved.
i have 2 springer spaniels tonight they just ate liek 4 drumsticks of chicken and the bone from christmas i think theres gonna be a big ass number on the vet bill
this is my friends dog, I was supposed to get on of it's siblings but the apartment I lived at didn't allow dogs... It's a german shepard / Rottweiler mix...the shepard genes are more dominant in this guy, however some of the others in the litter were very unique and amazing. Great temperment and very smart... look into it.
get any kind of retrieving bird hutning dog. very loyal, affectionate, no breeding defects ie. short life span or bad _____, males are more loyal than females. I rock springer spaniels, so does dane, don't you dane
here's my dog, hes a red setter, special hunting version of an irish setter. his name is logan because he was found half-dead in logan ohio. we adopted him when he was about one. he is the perfect dog, really laid back but incredibly affectionate, and pretty much the handsomest dog you've ever seen, he constantly looks like he is posing for a picture. he is very obedient and smart. I wish I could have him in college so bad, I really miss him and he's a chick magnet
i have a toy poodle who my mom likes to dress in clothes all the time and even has had a doggie manicure, its redic. i basically gave her my dog, he doesnt really like me much anywayz, i want a real dog when i get out of college
like either belgium shepard or one of those czech wolf dogs
Also it really depeds on the dog, once you pick a breed go find a breeder, and spend alot of time with the dogs to see which one you like best, or other way around.
if you're living in an apt don't get a lab...they're super active when they're young and chew EVERYTHING. i used to have one...they also have a lot of health issues due to overbreeding (true for any purebred). your best bet is to get a small mix i think.
i have a shih-tzu/cairn terrier mix and he's THE MAN.
i also have an italian spinone and she's the sweetest dog ever, she's like a person...they're pretty rare i guess.
this isn't her, but she looks just like this.
This is Scrappy. He's a five year old border terrier. No, not a mixed breed. Scrappy stands about 10-12 inches tall and weighs about 17 lbs. He gets sprayed by skunks, stuck by porcupines... Hell, he's even taken on an angry cow. He's had a few surgeries (none from health conditions. One was from eating rat poison the other from getting in a fight with a porcupine). He has to be fed dry, small-pellet natural food twice a day. He needs to be walked every day too. Has too have exercise. This type of dog was originally bred for hunting rodents, so if you have rats this dog is as good as a cat. He loves to cuddle and sunbathe. Btw, I've seen other dogs of the same breed do these things so it's not just Scrappy. He was worth the money we paid for him and he's worth the money we still pay for him. I wuv him to death.
