in teton gravity research movie from 1999, called Area 51, they show a dog dragged behind a 3wheeler. it was 1999 so they didnt really have CGI back then. Did TGR actually drag a real live dog behind a 3wheeler? did they kill a dog for their dumb movie? omfg

did hulk really destroy all those buildings in the first avengers?

did they really do all that herion in trainspotters?

did they really make a woman commit suicide for inception?

Damn, last time I dragged a dog behind a 3wheeler I didn't even think to film it.

But really I'm guess probably not. But somebody should post the clip when they investigate so the thread can see.

"it was 1999 so they didnt really have CGI back then."

Star Wars my guy, they had CGI way before 1999

I hate to be this guy, but Star Wars (assume you're talking about the original trilogy) was made using practical effects, matte painting, blue screens, and puppets, not CGI. That's part of why it was so groundbreaking at the time, most practical effects of that era weren't as realistic as those used in the original film.

You are right though, Jurassic Park is often viewed as one of the first highly successful CGI films, and it was released in 1993.

Sorry /nerd.

What about the moon landing? there was obviously CGI back then, right? The government was probably just keeping it a secret.

I back the theory that the first moon landing was fake but we actually went to the moon a year later (as laid out in arrested development)

There is a pay wall lol

I doubt it was real, I didn't see the clip, but I doubt TGR has a clip of a dog dying in their movie....

This is just an elaborate ploy to get more views

This. But again, you guys are underestimating practical effects. No CGI required.

I think most people don't understand what "CGI" actually is, like basically any graphic element in a video is "CGI"

yeah i don't remember the scene and i'm not about to pay to watch now but i really doubt they injured a dog on film, people especially skiers weren't into animal cruelty even in 99 haha

i must admit i'm curious to see the scene now, what context would that even make sense in?

The joke is that the guy is in such a rush to escape the authorities that he drives off without untying his dog from his dirtbike. However, upon closer inspection, tis only a bag of rags.
