so yea... stacked clips with the homies today and was just about to put it into my computer when my dog ran off with it and started chomping on it. its not totally fucked, theres only one metal connection point type thing thats bitten, but the rest of the card has a puncture or two... lol this fuckin sucks. Does anyone know how to recover the videos or if i'm able to? has anyone experienced something similar? Any advice helps. thanks in advance

Did you try plugging it in?

The memory is all around the metal, the plastic is just there for structure.

I tried plugging it in, my computer can’t read it anymore. However some file recovery app (meant for people who have accidentally deleted their files) was able to tell me how many gigs are on it so I feel like that’s a step in the right direction

When the dog started chewing he probably damaged or dented the storage chip. The SD card also has a smaller chip which stores info that probably wasn't damaged and that's why it told you the specs of the card.

Ah I see, thanks for the info man

Call the company that makes the card and see if you can send it in. They are usually pretty good at being able to rip data off it so its worth a try.

My guess is it is going to be expensive.

Good call I think I’ll give that a try. I’ve contacted a bunch of data recover ships and they’ve all kinda said I’m fucked but I’ll try calling the company

I think they are going to say the same thing. The best advice that I can give is to have multiple backups of raw footage or photos. If this happens again, you will be covered.
