Does your stoke level shoot up on Bluebird Days?

Just gotta say that i've grown to REALLY appreciate the warm Bluebird days that we get here (they seem to be pretty few). Not just that, but when the sun is out, my whole vibe, attitude, and willingness to progress in park changes drastically as well as ppl i'm riding with. I think this could be the case in most any sport.

Without trying to sound too weird... it's almost like an unseen energy that just motivates everyone and the stoke level goes way up when the sun finally breaks through the clouds on a gloomy day and stays out. Yeah, i know having no "flat light" plays into it, but it seems more than that, and just makes the day 100 times better.

So idk, just seems really cool to me, and wish we had more bluebird days on the days we're not getting snow. I mean, what do you guys think? Do bluebird days push you guys to throwdown harder and/or just make you that much more happier to be on the slopes with friends?

TL;DR

Do warm bluebird days motivate and drive you guys to throwdown more than if it was a cloudy/gloomy day? How does it effect you in general?

you are exactly right. it almost seems like on cloudy days I dont have to throw down so I dont do anything pretty much. On sunny days everyone is stoked and throwing down so I do too. if its sunny and warm enough to wea a hoodie, its even better. It mostly has to do with the vibe around you i think.

Sorry I have a plumber at my house putting in a new hot water heater so I can't leave to get food and being hungry makes me a smartass. As much as pow days can't be beat I do love bluebird days as well, especially slushy bluebird days (aside from the obvious goodness that is the bluebird pow day).

Bluebird makes everything better. Whether its skiing pow or springtime in the park I'm always far more stoked on a bluebird day.

lol, well shit... i was gonna recommend you wear 2 pairs of sunglasses underneath a super dark lense to cure your hatred of the sun.

I'm sorry you're hungry. eat some croutons... they pack a punch

Bluebird days are fun and all, but storm days. Those are the days. 30cm over night, with giant snowflakes falling in the sky with some strong wind. Just skiing the trees over and over again. Those are the best days, those are the were the stoke level shoots up.

Also whenever the sun goes down is when the session starts winding down. Night for me is always working to perfect whatever I learned that day

I definitely feel that way. The weather seems to make me happier, and I'm more willing to go for new stuff. But then I scold myself at the end of the day, because I wanted to film and I skied all day.

bluebird pow days are a blessing around here and they truly are some of the most fun days iv had skiing.

This whole week is bluebird backcountry pow laps. Thank you snow gods for blessing us with 150cm!

All I want for the rest of the season is Sunny bluebird days. For spring break I want to shred slush park laps, drink pbr, smoke joints, and grill in the parking lot.

I'm over goggles, poles, gloves, helmets, and jackets. I want to wear in a t-shirt and sun glasses.

The snow lower down was utter shit, but up in the alpine it was decent especially now with the cold front that's sucking all the moisture out of it. Coverage is great and avi focast is low, perfect conditions to bang out gnarly lines.

My two favorite things in the entire world are stormy pow days and sunny spring days. Sunny days always bring out the heaviest crew and the cameras at my hill. Just makes for the right conditions to drop some hammers.

Those kind of days make me go harder because when its warm out I feel like i can do more. And on bluebird days most of the park skiers are on the hill which makes it more fun

for sure, imo there's no better day than bluebird skies no clouds and skiing pow all day. i can't throw down in cloudy/flat light but days where it's dumping all day are a close second behind bluebird

I tend to on sunny days, to ride around with sunglasses and without a helmet. I get stoked, but I don't throw down

i ski in the woods at night with a head lamp

our mountain is open till 3 am on Fridays and Saturdays...

Bluebird Slush almost beats out Snowy Powder day. Only almost.

Now Bluebird Powder... Winner anytime. So rare here on the East Coast though.

Yeah, everytime the sun is shining when I go skiing, I just say to myself: -This is going to be a good day.and it usually is. It just makes me happy and me and my friends just start to do all kinds of goofy tricks and jibs, and try new tricks. The wibe is awesome.

Definitely, but I think it's more because it's the only time the landings are soft here in MN. Something about landing on a rock-hard tranny makes me not want to try new stuff for that day.

Totally agree with OP. Especially here on the east coast, we usually get flat light days. But on a bluebird day when the sun is out, I just feel more happy. I think there's some science bullshit behind it too- the sun gives off some sort of ray that makes you feel happy.

just had one today. slayed hard all day, got my 3s down pretty solid, learned flat 3s, and i backflipped a 30 foot step up which is the biggest i've tried it on now i just need to land it
