Um... Yeah he will. How long you've been making music for doesn't mean a thing if you're not producing hits. You could go make music for the next 30 years and not be remembered by anyone if your music isn't popular.

and psy is a one hit wonder in the US, just like jibbs. You can go all hipster and cite his record sales in korea, but Americans don't give a shit about that. how many metal bands (no, not ac/dc or iron maiden or black sabbath) have hits? not too many, but a fuck ton of people listen to metal.

how many jazz bands have hits? I can't name any, but I can name a lot of people who listen to jazz.

when beginner musicians create music it people either like it or they don't. if people like it, they gain a fan base and grow from there. if nobody likes it, they either give up or go back to the drawing board until they gain some popularity.

seems like people automatically latch on to radio songs now and won't accept that it's not better than everything else. they think that because more people are giving it attention that it must be the best music.

most of the bands I listen to have at least double the facebook likes tom wallisch has, and yet there are probably 5 people on this website at the most who know of them.
