Does Whistler have any Powder right now!?!?

So, i have a trip planned to salt lake city in a few weeks, as we all know, they don't have a lot of snow. Thinking about trying to change to whistler. I really only want to ski tree lines / powder, not any park since I do that on the east coast (if thats all they have in utah, its going to suck).

so bascially, how are conditions in whistler right now?

Not saying don't go to whistler but Brighton was lookin nice last week skied a little fresh pow in the trees

check the temps while you're at it. they got a foot while I was there but it was so wet and heavy. it was only my 3rd day this season so my legs were shaky but i was having trouble not falling over along with everyone else on the mountain

Would it make sense that the stream of air or whatever that brings the storms in was in Alaska in the begginning, thats why they got/are dumped on, but now it moving lower, so now BC and the NW is getting it, so maybe the rest of the US gets it in a couple weeks? just spitballin here...

Temps look marginal. I'm there in 3 weeks - how low has the snow been getting? Much rain in the village?

until i looked at your profile, i could have sworn you were one of my friends that i've booked a trip to utah with the last week of january. we're thinking the exact same thing.

yeah, the top half is rockin' bottom half, well, who skis the bottom half anyways? haven't skied it yet this year but everyone over on TGR is stoked on the current snow they got over the past two or three days. I ventured out to the coast from the Kootenays due to the amount of snow Whistler is getting. I'll be up there after the weekend, I'll give you a update after.

Holy shit im going Saturday with my friends. I havent skied pow this season yet. But my god I have blue balls right now just thinking about it.

it's whistler, the snow is usually wet, and the village is no stranger to rain in the winter. coastal snow = wet snow.

just like it's always raining in Washington, and the old term "Sierra Cement". any range that gets weather straight off the Pacific is going to have wet snow. You want the uber dry suff? go to Rockies.

i skied yesterday got like 5th up harmony such a sickk day going up tommorow again gonna hike flute since its only supposed to get like 2 cms

haha, you should deff change... it was $150 to change the flight, plus the difference in the flight which was like 200 more. But it actually didn't end up being that differenct cause we got a package deal with hotel and lift tickets... we didn't plan to do that in utah since we wanted to ski a diff resort each day and were gonna stay in the city. Plus, we didn't have to rent a car, we're getting a shuttle each way from the airport to the resort, so saved money there too. Man, I'm excited!

Quick update... we're headed up there this sunday to ski for 5 days!! I'm pretty stoked. Seems like they have been getting destroyed for the past month! The weather channel says is been a rain/snow mix , but the whistler site has been claiming all snow! How are the conditions for anybody who is up there now or recently??? Also, it says its supposed to be sunny and no snow all next week, think I should still plan on renting pow skis?

Weather.com showing some dry ass days ahead for everywhere it seems. Miserabley 2012 continuess??
