Does this ski exist?

ok, so i visited josh at jibij the other day and we could not really think of a ski that fills this gap, so im seeing if any of you can think of something.

im looking for a ski, similar to the head monster mi86, so about 85-95 underfoot, large shovels, and 185 or so long, extremely stiff and a twin. does that exist? the closest thing i have found so far is the scratch brigade, but yeah, let me know :)

head mojo 90? theyre pretty stiff, idk how big the shovels are tho. or mebbe chronic blends? those are supposed to be stiff too

I wouldn't say the im88 is very close to the stiffness of the squad, but it is on the stiff side. I can't think of any twins that are really stiff (aside from maybe the ANT) so the closest you'll probably get would be the Mojo 90, which is still a little soft at speed.

i already have ant's and im looking for something that will be better on steeps on regular days with no new snow. and something that is a bit faster in the trees. and i still want it stiff at speed, thats very important. i ski crested butte so yeah.

I dont really know a lot about them but possibly moment M1s? Fatter than what you are looking for at 105 underfoot but are supposedly quite stiff and long. The first ski to come to mind for me though was the Mojo 90. Stiff, twin and available in a 193.

mvmt gladiator is stiff, but not that stiff. does it have to be a twin? if not there are more options...

old mantras would be getting there

there was a site i read about on tgr, i cannot for the life of me remember the name. but they were a small company, really expensive... they had massive side-cut, and were all pretty stiff. i think most of the skis they made were wider than 85-95 in the waist, but it's worth checking out. i seem to remember seeing it here on ns not too long ago, maybe looks through a couple previous pages...

i have an idea of what a stiff ski is. my skis are stiffer than my buddies ants. 06/07 volkl karmas. 185.

87 waist. 113 shovel.(might be a little small for you but w.e)

stiffer than a 2 by 4 (not litterally)

twin tip

steezy graphics.

lol

not stiff enough.

not nearly.

if it helps, stop thinking in a park ski direction. just cause the waist is about that of a park ski. you need to be thinking of skis that most of you do not normally ride. this ski is for 0% park and 100% double black and ex stuff. say what you will but i would never drop a real cliff on park skis. thats a bad idea.

Karmas are defnitely nowhere near as stiff as the ANTs, and they're still noticably softer than the Mojos.

To the OP: Do you NEED a twin? If it's not necessary, there's a lot more options availble. If a twin is necessary, you'll probably just have to settle with a softer ski than you'd like. Unfortunately for those of us who like stiffer skis, most ski companies ideas of a "stiff" flex is reflective of the opinions shown on this site.

no, im very open to a flat tail. the reason why i used the mi.86 as the example is thats what im thinking of getting otherwise.

Try checking out Head and Stockli, they both make solid skis that would work for you. And if you're willing to go a little wider, I use Legend Pros as my everyday ski and they work great for everything but moguls.

haha, no. and chris, KWs aren't that stiff. just find some old mantras, or if you want to keep a twin mojo 90s might be the way to go (the older the model, the stiffer they are)

if you want stiff and long, and relativly wide deff go with the birgade, i demoed it and it was nice, im not a fan of stiff skis but it was nice and was really great for carving and switch riding, i dont really know the dementions on it cause i only rode them for like 3 runs but they should be pretty much what your looking for

ahh, i have it now: heres as good a list as any:

Volkl Mantras [04-05 stiffest]

Stokli Dp Pros

Blizzard Titan Pro/9- extremely stiff

Movement Thunders

Maybe 08 Rossi b94s?

My pick would be the Blizzards, my-oh-my are they stiff.

definitely!

i'm looking for a similar ski having lost my karma's in a fire

Volkl Bridge in 185 (130-92-112)

bridge Sidecut

As the name implies, the Bridge is an all-new ski that forms the ‘Bridge’ between big mountain and park riding. Even the graphic

borrows a little from our big-mountain and park-specific graphics. The shape is 130-92-112mm, a little wider than the Karma from

years past. For the skier who wants a ski that will ride great in the park, yet still have the width and strength to take on really deep

conditions, the Bridge will pick up where the Karma left off as a benchmark.

hate to piss on your bonfire dude, but i wouldn't say the bridge is all that stiff. its a sick ski no doubt, but not stiff by any means...

karma's were one of the stiffer twins out there, and i would imagine these being somewhat similar since they are taking the karma's place

have you skied the bridge's or are you just talking out of your ass?

Yeah, stiff park skis are hard to come by. the bridge I think would compare to the likes of the liberty sb, and the dynastar big trouble.

187 msps

i think the vcts are too wide.

what came to my mind instantly is Tha 187, but that prob. wouldnt work.

ANT and JP Julians you should try just in case

i wish i could find a pair of last years mantras or the year before in 191 so bad, such a sick ski. and are the titan pro's the one with the green top sheet and neon orange sidewalls? i skied those and i don't think im big enough to rock those. they seemed like they were for someone 50 pounds or so heavier than me, being that im about 175 with all my ski stuff on, maybe a little more. oh, also i have bindings for them, p18 wides, if that changes anything.
