Does the olie bar in line invaders work?

I actually have the ollie band in my old line twelve sixtys and never understood exactly what it is supposed to do... i

I notice them when riding my friends invaders.

I ride fujatives usually, and I'm sick and tired of those sloppy skis. I want a stiffer ski.

Think I'm going for 4FRNT TNK by the end of the season. I can get them for pretty cheap at th elocal store

The Carbon Ollie Band is actually (I think 5) stands of carbon run the length of the ski. They hold perfectly straight but can be bent in either direction, (Up or down) When your tails are compressed and the ollie bands are bent, there is immediate pressure from the bands to "Snap Back" into place. I have them in my skis and they are noticeable. Kept my skis from getting noodly after a few season even.

Thats my best attempt at explaining it. Just carbon stringers that Produce a "Snap Back" affect when you put weight on them and then ollie.

yeah my first 3 with the olibands in my anthems just popped me way high with not much effort

i rode my buddies invaders for a run, and now that you mention it, i could def ollie higer....i just though it was cause they were smaller and park skis rather then my big troubles

The only thing the ollie bar in the invaders is good for is preventing them from coming apart when they snap in half on your second run on them.

Well, I haven't been able to use both '07 and '08 Invaders, but in theory it should work. Carbon has the ability of being very strong, while being very low weight.

that and the butter zone are very noticable on my anthems i would be really uncomfortable switching back to anything else

04-05 Mike Nick Pros. I believe it was the first, (or second) year they added the ollie bands. And to this day they still have kept my skis a consistent flex. Things are bombproof.

ha i doubt it, ive skiied tnk's and you cant ollie even close to as high. i think it works so well cause you can flex the invaders so easily and so much, the ollie bands are like totally loaded up and when you pop, they just spring you like crazy, like i can actually ollie over peoples boards when they are sitting down from flat.

na the prophets have a titanium layer, instead of carbon. a lot stiffer but also heavier, way better edge hold

theyre definitely noticable, i will say though that the butter zone in the tail makes them a bit harder to use to their full potential. only suggestion to line would be make the butter zone less drastic in the tail, tail butters are way less common anyways.

im pretty sure the ollie band is just there to help the core from snapping because they use really soft and "weak" wood to help the be softer and more buttery. cause really, the invaders dont ollie much better than any other ski ive ever ridden

The ollie band is just a fancy name for carbon stringers. They are in a lot of skis to make them more poppy, without adding much stiffness or weight. K2 has been doing it for years (yes, before the Line buy). you can see it on top of the wood on the second gen fujatives.

between the TNKs and the fujis I can ollie higher on my TNKs. I could ollie higher than when I tried anthems too, but I only rode those for a few runs, so I dono, if you get really used to it I could see an improvment in pop. Maybe it is my racing background creating a biased opinion.

Actutally it doesn't...the smaller Prophets have the metal matrix, the 130 has neither metal nor carbon. But they are a ridiculously sick ski nevertheless...I loved mine.

this year's 130s has it, dude. you can see it under the clear topsheet. also goto the website, choose prophet 130 and watch the video if you don't believe it. Jason Levinthal shows it to the camera and even says it has the carbon ollieband on there although for the 130's case, it doesn't help ollies but it is a lighter alternative than the metal matrix since it is such a big ski

notice the 5 black lines running down the ski

This years version may have had it, but previous years certainly did not...and LINE doesn't list it on the specs of the 130 in the tech section of the site either.

ok whatever. i don't know how else to convince you. i've given you a video and a photo and I've seen it right in front of me inches from my face. and since they don't list it in the specs you still don't believe me?

they don't list it in the specs probably because dumb kids might think you can ollie the 130 easily

Calm down sparky...I'm not saying you're lying...quite the opposite in fact.

I'm saying it was LINE's mistake for not listing it in the tech specs of the ski.

And I'm also saying that the previous years didn't have it, that's all...I can plainly see it in the new lay-up. But to my knowledge, the original 130s, (same ones I had), didn't use the carbon stringer...that's all.
