Does skiing have the highest number of underground riders that arent pro that should be

I would also like to nominate skiing for the sport with the highest number of rich kids trying to get their stuff sponcered even tho they are going to the hill with an escalade and rocking brand new clothes and gear every year.

it's because think about what audience skiing caters to, you have to have money to be good at skiing, you can't just live at a huge resort on welfare and ski every day and travel to comps until you are a pro. sports like skateboarding cater to everyone, no matter who you are and where you live, you can skateboard, and you can hit the same spots as pros within a 20 minute walk to get good.

you gotta be kidding me dude think about who rides for pbp: benchetler, hatveit, durtschi, and.. oh yeah.. sammy fucking carlson. think about the level they are on. the sickest in the pro game. then think about the level taylor is on. he's not even close to the sickest in the am game. alex martini will eat him for lunch while spinning half as many degrees, grabbing for hours longer, and would never claim a thing. and thats a friendly example.

on another note, andrew taylor is very stylish talented young kid and i hope he blows up. but lets be realistic

no, it seems that way because we're more familiar with the players in the game. i would propose that almost all action sports are on a similar level (with variance based on overall size of sport [i.e. skateboarding = huge]). the line between amazing unknown and spanzorized am/pro is amazingly thin, and largely has to do with timing, luck, and knowing people.

first off skatboarding is the most technical sport out there and there are tons of riders who are insane and really arent even lookig for contracts.

there is something to be said about those who just do it cause its what they love.

there are a lot of skiers who should be sponsored but arent but im not sure it matters.

the top pros put themselves in positions to get the contracts and sponsorships. those that are good enough need and are miffed about not being considered with the best need to do what the best do.

risk everything on a regular basis and enter as many comps as possible and do well.

if your worthy and your a winner you will get to where you want to be.
