Me: If you do I'l let you ride them

Myles: I snowboard

Me: o shit, well I could ummmm.... let you masturbate to the grafics

Myles: o great...

Salomon is rough. they only sponsor the top dogs or the riders that have prospects of becoming one.

They give out small sponsorships usally after great competition standings

And then up it once you place even better they have scouts at bigger competitions and I guess by the time you get to that point you are 'professional'

I know a guy named Mike that's sponsored by salomon, but he ended up going to the x-games..

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

are you talking about 'sponsored' sponsored or the little kiddies that are at your hill that got some free gear or shop from price form their local rep and say that they are sponsored. theres a difference.

that's the difference between being 'sponsored' and being a 'pro', pros get paid in money and free gear, while sponsored riders just get gear.

that's the way i look at it

THE SPRINKLER: get butt naked and then do a 1260 while taking a piss, i expect this trick to win many comps this coming season.

Year before last Pete Olenick got sponsored by Salomon. Then midway through last year he went pro, so they probably dont ONLY sponsor pros, but definatley the best.

depends on how good u r. I heard Candide got 300,000 from just Salomon. And Tanner won like 100,000 when he won every comp that he entered two years ago

does salomon sponsor pros - thats kinda retarded the way you put it. If salomon sponsers any skier he/she is automatically a pro as they are being sponsored by a company/someone. Thus salomon and the rest of the other ski companies only sponsor pros

'Just Jib It'

I would say that being a pro, specifies a person who is able to make a living out of his sport.

Just because Im sponsored, doesn't make me a pro if I have to go work in a burgerbar every weekend.

if youve been to alaska and japan and own a sled, you are a pro

I will have to agree with what Tony Hawk once said. You dont have to be good to be considered pro, you just have to have your pictures in alot of magazines.

ya i met a guy at mt hood, tommy, that was sponsored my salmon but he wasn't pro, he was one of the guys who was a local with Pollard, he was sick as hell

Yeha one of my friends got sponsored by Salomon last year. He is also sponsored by Smith.

If you didn't hear it straight from the source it's probably not true. I wouldn't take those figures seriously.

It's all rumours

No Mr.Porcupine, I don't wanna see your weiner

yeah being a pro means making money/a living off it

i am a ski 'pro' but it does not get me very much in ways of sponsorships...

a spnosored pro who is making a living skiing is what you wanna be..

Professionals get by. But not as lavishly as most other professional sports athletes which is a sad thing.

Only the top few professionals make good money, the rest live on lunch money

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

Keep in mind that jibbers arent the only skiers getting sponsored. Salomon sponsors a shit load of racers. Each company has to decide what market is most lucrative, and then they set aside sponsorship money. Obviously, Salomon thinks they can make more $ sponsoring racers because it is more mainstream.
