I see alot of skater on NS and in videos. Im a a im a moutain biker out of ski season and i was just wondering is it worth changing sports if skating helps your ski skills.

Yes, the answer is yes. But you should had done a search before asking the question.

So, in clear, any good skater will catch up skiing very quick on the first year. They will be good at rails and jumps. But they will lack on the turning and other unique skiing techniques. And many good skaters proved it in the past. They were talented on concrete and when they switched on skis they were good enough to be sponsored after a year or two of skiing. I am not saying that if you do both sports you will get sponsored. Keep in mind that those guys were exceptions.

Also, skateboarding would improve your skiing skills as well. Big names like Frank Raymond, Sean Petit and JF Houle are goods at it. Just to name a few. Anyway, I think that's more important to focus on how you do it beside of which sport you do. Like, if you learn only a couple more new tricks during the whole summer then it will probably means that you won't help that much your skiing skills for the next season.

So, here a few skaters that were very good at skiing park just after starting up : Iannick B, Nicky Adams, Kaya Turski, Chris Haffey. And the freshest one I discovered 2 days ago is Jerry Butler. I heard that he started skiing only last year. Personnaly I'm not just impressed by his skills but also his style. Here is a video of him with mixed footage :

that video was epic, that mouth dude is fucking weird though. Yea i got a pair of blades and am just tryin them out, it's pretty hard, not like skiing, a little less stable. Not many of my friends are into it though, hasn't really caught on where i live. It looks soo fun though if you got super good

its fun kinda compares to skiing in the rail sense but landing on slopes takes mad skill so easy to land on your face and snow has a lot more give than concrete ........ but overall its a good way to kill time in the summer

Definitly get a pair, it helps so much with skiing. I find park skating very hard in at least the parks I've been to because the rails are too wide but I have like a mini little skate rail and its perfect for switchups and 270s and 450 outs and its JUST LIKE SKIING

I find that he's an alright skateboarder. I have seen some videos of him which they were broadcast on Whistler cable, and he was also riding the skatepark once in a while during the summer. But seriously, why did you say that? Is that your daily forum hate?
