Does momentum actually make you wear a helmet

Nice try, but that is completely beside the point, since tons of people wearing seatbelts still die of head injuries in car crashes, and helmets would save lots of them. But since nobody wears helmets in cars, the idea seems ridiculous, doesn't it? Just like wearing a helmet on the trampoline sounds ridiculous. But the truth is, you stand as much chance of getting severe head trauma in a car or an a trampoline as you do skiing.

For example the pro tele skier last year who almost died of head trauma in a car accident, he probably always wore a helmet when skiing, but had he been wearing one in the car crash, he probably would have been much better off.

Again, I'm not in any way arguing against helmet use in skiing (or arguing for helmet use in cars and on trampolines), I'm just trying to give a sense of perspective.

And I've had this debate before, and it always gets everybody riled up and generally goes nowhere, so I'll stop now. Wear your helmet, be safe, have fun, peace.

tanner usually doesn't wear a helmet, at least not while he was training at breck, and neither did simon. jon, andreas, jossi and colby all did. i dont think candide does either. some pros only wear them when comps make them.

i dont understand why simon still doesnt wear one. he said himself after that overshoot that it was fucking stupid, he wasnt even wearing a helmet. although he does sometimes

haha well long story....knee to the face lost like 4 teeth killed 3 or so and 2 surgeries couldnt eat for half a year..... but anyways i wear a helmet and a chin guard.... i dont care what peeps think im not fucking my mouth up again.

k dude honesty any sort of camp that u are paying to get into is going to make helmets mandatory or else they are going to get the shit sued out of them when stupid little kids dont wear one

this thread is over,

but just to add on, i wear a helmet now, because last year i was wearing a skate helmet and tried to do 270 on pretzel 270 off, and i ended up doing a 180 off caught my edge, slammed down onto ice, and got a mild concussion. if i had not been wearing a skate helmet i would have gotten a serious concussion, if i had been wearing a ski helmet, i most likely would have been able to keep skiing with maybe a minor concussion. SO INSTEAD OF WEARING A SKATE HELMET WITH BARELY ANY PROTECTION, I BOUGHT MYSELF A NEW R.E.D. MUTINY, AND HAVE SMASHED MY HEAD MORE TIMES BUT HAVE NOT GOTTEN HURT AT ALL.

but i do believe in people having their own opinions, and if you dont want to wear a helmet then dont.

i would wear one no matter what. if you dont feel like your steezy with one, just get a padded hat.

personally i wear a helmet everywear i go. to school, to friends houses, to work, and just anywhere out n about. and as a result, i am always safe. trust me.. GOOD idea

I don't think it works for those sports other than skateboarding.

Gynastics and trampoline would be very restricted in their movements- I know you could argue the same with skiing, but doing the parelle bars with a helmet would be tricky.

AS for surfing a wakeboarding helmet might work, but I really dont think it would help. Maybe they should wear lifejackets?
