Does greasy food contribute to acne?

i've got semi bad acne and i got hired at a pizza place not to long ago which means free pizza all around.

so, should i stop eating pizza?

do you rub the pizza all over your face? If the answer is no, I'd go ahead and say that no, generally, eating pizza does not contribute to having a pizza face, no matter how ironic it would be otherwise.

yes it does. ask any dermatologist and they will tell you, diet is one of the main contributors of acne along with genetics and hygiene

hahah ohhhh, I didn't even think about the actual diet part, I was concentrating on the greasiness of the actual object emanating from pizza to face.

yeah i work at a pizza shop and never had trouble with acne and now i have some issues with it, its not that bad though. basically what you need to do is wash your hands OFTEN AND WELL, never ever touch your face at work EVER, after work take a shower and wash your face with clearasil or whatever and then if its really getting bad (even i do it and i have good skin) get a kit for like facewash or whatever like proactive and use that after you shower. and the food contributes but the major thing is touching your face.

And um, if you rub pizza all over your face you might want to find another place to work regardless... those types of people don't last too long...

greasy food doesn't help, however its mainly your complexion. some people have naturally greasy skin (around the forehead, nose, and chin) and when your pores are always clogged the pimples just explode. i had em pretty bad on the forehead when i was younger, but thankfully i think i grew out of it. i always found that having those alcohol swabs on hand was helpful though. anything to wipe away the grease that so readily accumulates is a huge plus. oh, and dont touch your face. ever. i used to have longer hair too, and with my hair always hanging down in my eyes and unconsciously pushing it back hurt the complexion too. just try your best to not have your hands in your face.

i feel for you homie. its a shitty time of life. raging hormones..

yes it does. Try to eat better and wash your face as much as you can. You'll grow out of it sooner or later (hopefully)

the environment helps too, if you're in a greasy pizza place all day you're gonna get grease on your face, which would help your acne get pretty bad

it does a little, but if you balance it out with a lot of water and fruit and such, you will be ok. i had moderate acne but it has cleared up quite a bit. yes i use the proactiv solution, like jessica simpson and p. diddy fo sho

It does, but only to a certain extent, I have severe acne, bad enough that i need pills, and let me tell you that eating healthy makes a HUGE difference, but so long as you aren't eating overly greasy or unhealthy foods, such as pizza, to excess you should be alright, and try Oxy brand soaps and other acne stuff, they're the only ones that seem to work well for me (this was before the pills)

makes sense.

If you had a pizza diet, or a vegetable diet, i would argue that the former would give your more of a fucked face than the latter

i clean my face before i go for a shower, and in the shower, and i wash my face before i go to bed.

today at work i washed my hands alot.

but, i work a 4-8 shift so i miss supper, so that pizza is so tempting.

maybe i'll make not eating pizza my new years resolution

just wash your face a lot

and use those pore stripes, where you get it wet and leave it on for like 30 minutes then rip it off, they feel good

i will vouch for this.

i've had semi-bareable acne for the greater portion of my exsistance up until this past summer when i went to india. maybe it was the hot weather and accompanying humidity or the fact that i ate vegetarian the entire time (featuring lots of spicey goodness), or a combination of the three, i came back home and the acne i had on my back had completely dissapeared and my complexion cleared up tenfold.

back to being in the swing of things, however, the redness has returned (thought not as bad) and the bacne is back but not as severe.

so...eat well. boycott mcdick's. vegetables are your friends.
