....just look up at the stars????
seriously they are crazy!!!! there are so many of them and are so far away and..... they are just awesome, they make you you think about how big the world really is, let alone the universe.....
i think they are the best thing ever....... besides skiing:)
any one else want to rant about the stars???
 
just for a second think about how big space is. its never-fucking-ending. thats crazy. it just never stops, for all of eternity..the true infinity.

no walls, no end of the road. it just goes on for ever and ever and ever.

i dont think anyone can truly grasp the concept of infinity. it is just so 'other-worldy' (npi)

think if you were shot into space. you would just keep going, for the rest of time.

ive always had the idea that we are like part of a cell or something, that like we are part of a gigantic person yoyu know??? we are so small and they are so big we will never know but still think about.....

dude just chillin in the mountians at night looking at the stars is so relaxin, or at a lake, White lake in NH is the best place for that.
 
one of my favorite moments was when i was camped up on a mountain with a girl , and we just layed there and looked up at the stars, it just makes you feel calm, like your home, no matter where you are.
 
in the summer when im high sometimes ill just lasy down on the grass and look at the stars. i did that at a concert this past summer and it was sweet.
 
hahahaha good timing dude, i just got back to my house from a night lab for my astronomy class. all ive been doing for the last 2 hours is fuck with telescopes.
i saw jupiter, it's crazy!
 
i love to go camping out under the stars!!!!! especially on cold nights...... its awesome...... untill a storm blows up on you at 230 in the morning then its hell......
 
yea dude the sky is dope. go to http://www.heavens-above.com and enter in your exact coordinates where you live (like from google earth or something), and you can find out when the ISS passes by or when you can see Iridium Flares and stuff.

does anybody remember seeing the Hale Bopp comet, that was sick
 
any time i get the chance to look at the stars on a clear night i will. i dont want to turn this into a ufo thread but i have seen some pretty wierd stuff while looking at the stars. one night me and my friends were out by the fire and looked up and so this orange glowing sphere (probably 10 times as big as venus looks in the night sk) just floating in the sky not really even moving just hovering for about a minute and then it just gradually took off into the distance and disappeared. by the way, ive always wanted a telescope
 
thats pretty ridiculous. honestly i wouldnt be surprised at all if we were the only life form.

i just got crazyyy chills up and down my back typing that though. wierd.

but i, too, enjoy looking at the starts. its crazy to just sit there and think/wonder how big shit really is.

 
yeah, stars are amazing, and so is space.

the darkest place that i think i have seen the most stars at is at the top of Logan Pass at Glacier at 2 in the morning. your on top of the world, pretty much and you can see so many stars you never see anywhere else. seeing the northern lights and meteor showers are pretty amazing too.
 
yeah a little while back i was layin on the side of a hill with a couple friends and their gfs (yes a lil bit awkward) and i just started lookin at the stars for like the first time and i just couldn't get over how amazing it was. it was a very humbling experience.
 
seriously ted? we are 1 planet in 1 solar system in a galaxy with 200

billion other stars that could have planets that could sustain life in

a universe that has at least 100 billion other observable galaxies. and

thats only what we know of! the chances of there NOT being other life

out there somewhere are impossible
 
the world is pretty amazing. think about how you can still certain stars no matter where you are on earth. people in china see the same north star that we do.
 
Stars are really cool.

I usually live in PA and there is barely anything to see in the night's sky. When I went to upstate New York last summer, I hung out with friends at a lake and at night the stars were incredible. Sometimes you could even see the milky way. Too bad I didn't bring my telescope.
 
see thats what i dont really understand, scientists claim that space is still expanding but what the fuck is beyond space? more space? myspace? IDK?
 
Ya. It's weird to think about.

Just imagine, the universe goes on forever.

That means that there is someone else out there somewere doing the exact same things that you or i'm doing right now. Cause there is like a 1 in 500000000000000 billion chance that there is someone the exact same as you, and if the universe goes on forever, that means it has to happen somewere. its hard to explain but cool to think about.
 
I live in maine. Where I am sitting right now, I can guarentee there are less than 10 people in my square mile with me at the center. So yeah, i do it all the time, its hard not to see them.
 
yeah, its amazing to think of just how far away all the planets are, and if there are other planets like earth out there

 
you know whats wierd to think about, what if space does end, whats beyond it and where does it stop, i think about that shit all the time,its mind boggling
