Does anyone know how to use Flash?

I need to make a 30 second animation, and I am looking for someone who knows what they are talking about. I want to make an acorn turn into a tree, so if anyone has any tips, please let me know.
 
If you have the images of both cant you create a motion tweet from the acorn into a cloud/smoke cloud or something like that and have it masked into the image of a tree.

I took the basics last semester and we had to do a political one, but my project was awful.
 
The shape tween just makes it looks funky, I want it to "grow" not break apart and the reassemple like the shape tween does.  Motion hints is a good idea though.
 
I would advise you to go to linda.com ...they have the most helpful tutorials on the web and really made flash a lot easier..although you can get 1 day free with each e-mail or just torrent them
