I dont have a mac so i can't take a stab at this venture but I have a bunch of questions for people that do program applications or anything for these devices.

:)

Let me clarify that i'm not trying to guilt someone into coding something for me :P

I just have some questions about the methods and ease of programing for these things

I agree that it was a bad move on Apple's part to release the SDK for only Macs...

kinda shows you there real motives IMO...if they truely wanted to make shit so easy to use for everyone, why can't ~80% of computers in the world (aka Windows based machines) run this?

Reminds me of when the iPod was only available for the Mac...and we can see how that turned out! Hopefully this guy is able to create Windows based SDK because i think a lot more people will tinker with it if they can run it on windows (aka me!); which really makes me wonder what sort of potential is there for the app store!

probally, wouldnt it be basically the same thing as running inwdows on a mac to play windows only games, ie. jibberish? its worth a try if you can get the os for free/cheap.

Running OSX on a PC is not that easy. I had it installed on a laptop and there was no way to get wireless working. Updating OSX couldn't be done until people had tested that it wouldn't break anything, and even updating causes bad things to happen. When i tried to update to 10.5.2 the install broke and i couldn't boot into osx anymore. That's when I said "fuck it" and put linux on it.

As far as programming for iphone, I really wanted to try it, but I don't have a mac available for me to use. So gay.

meh i dunno, when i was downgrading a friends laptop from vista to xp, i had cleared everything and tried the Mac OS just to see if it ran, while i was burning a copy of xp and it worked fairly well, although i didnt go in depth into exploring its functionalities

Their motives, jesus christ the appstore is monopolistic as all fucking hell. They ban anything that remotely overlaps with an apple developed product and have even blatantly ripped off apps from the jailbreak scene. Its only a matter of time before the court cases pile up and they have to release their stranglehold. Dont get me wrong the appstore has done great things, but apple's bullshit plus ban on apps that run in the background is only going to breathe new life into the jailbreak scene~
