Does anyone have a valentine one radar detector?

im gettin a radar detector and want a really good one how is this one it seems really good anyone have it? also do u have to get it installed or does it plug in to the cigarete lighter or somethign?
 
i totally thought you meant "does anybody have a valentine on their radar" Like for the day coming up in amonth or so ahhah. And no i dont have a radar detector
 
i have one and got it last year. it has saved my ass a few times already. i just never use it in the city cause its kinda worthless and i just usually stay in the speed limit, its when im out of town and that is where it works at its best. you need still need to be careful for laser and instant on cause you cant avoid it and you just hope that you can pick it up if there are other cars in front of you if not your done, they got you speed. i got zapped once for laser and got pulled over, but lucky i didn't get a ticket.

you can install it however you want. i did mine with the phone cord (it came with the package) and just tucked it behind the top of the windshield and hood and follow it down to the side past the side dash and over the steering wheel to the cigarrte lighter and its out of my view.

Get it. Its the best $400 bucks you can spend. I drive around the counrty for a living, and log roughly 50,000 miles a year. Its saved me many times. Couple of highlights with the v.1, its upgradeable, you can plug it into your computer and get updates on lazer/radar software. It tells you where your getting zapped from, somthing that seems stupid till you use it. And it works way better then any other radar detector out there.

Keep in mind nothing protects you from lazer. you get zapped by lazer and your speeding, all the v1 does is tell you to pull over to pick up your ticket.

Take to time to read up on the differences between radar and lazer, if you know what to look for its easy....
 
a radar detector is an amazing investment. i don't know the kind that i have because it was my dads but they really saved my ass on many occasions. my friend has one that was cheap but it works so good and its so basic. but it really catches the k alert like a mile before the cop. it catches it so early that you don't believe the radar and 10 seconds later you pass the cop
 
i had the escort passport 8500 x 50 and it worked REALLY well, honestly driving on a straight highway i would pick up cops 25 seconds before I could even see them on the other side. for normal driving like in town and around curves it would always give me plenty of time to get to the speed limit. i did a lot of research before buying this thing, i went with this one over the valentine because all the reviews showed the passport performing better, and it's quite a bit cheaper. i definitely was not disappointed. it probably has saved me from at least 15 tickets.
 
I wish radar detectors were legal in Aus..

I'm very surprised that they are legal in the US - i mean it really indirectly gives you the ability to speed and then slow down when a cop is close by?..makes speed limits useless.
 
I have a detector that i got for 80 bucks. Its saved my ass sooo many times. i dont see the point in buying a very expensive one cause nothing is gunna protect you from laser or the pull trigger radar one they use now. i usaully have plenty of time to slow down. But just cause you have a radar detector doesnt mean you can go 110 on the highway, you can still get pulled over if the comp is running nothing. And their judgement will hold up over yours in court.
 
I personally don't have one but everyone I know who has one loves the valentine1. If I were to get a detector this is the one I would get, and I personally know there expensive but in this game you get what you pay for.

And yes you can get jammers that will block laser but the catch is they are all 100% illegal in every state,
 
I have one, don't remember which, but I never use it. After my tickets, I just don't really speed anymore. But, I don't know a lot about it, but I heard about a jammer that apparently blocks everything they can throw out now, including lasers. It's illegal in 4 states, not sure which. AND if you do get a ticket, the company will pay for it.
 
waht do u mean the company pays for it? like the valentine radar dectector company pays for tickets i get? also any others out there that are good ones idc really what company somone told me about this one i just need one
