No one i know knows The*Ataris! Are they really that unknown? If anyone knows them, what do you guys think? Also, was anyone at any of their shows (especially the one in Philly!)?

everyone knows the ataris... they signed with columbia records last year. theyre your usual pop-punk band who sing a lot of mournfull songs about girls. i own an ataris cd. guilty as charged.

theres a natural mystic flowing through the air if you listen carefully now you will hear. its the first trumpet calling. might as well be the last. many more will have to suffer many more will have to die dont ask me why. things are not the way they used to be.
 
they are pretty good. not the best music to get you pumped on the mountain, but it's some good stuff.

where do you live? in a hole? lol. the ataris have been around for awhile and are definately a pop-punk-mtv band. they're right up there with good charlotte and new found glory. 'punk' for the masses.

i'm pretty sure i saw them at warped tour a few years ago, they've been around for awhile but it depends where you live cuz i think punk/pop dosen't make it in some areas

Yeah i love the ataris! i saw them with sugarcult and rufio a couple weekends ago in minneapolis. they are fuckin horible live though

And i thought they rocked live. I met Kris and the boys after the show. they were so cool.

The *Ataris is definently pop-punk...but the music is good...my favorite song by them is 'Last song I'll ever write about a girl...'. good shit, there!

I'm usually against the whole MTV thing, but isn't saying 'Any band who plays on MTV isnt punk' a bit out there? The Dropkick Murphy's had a video of Barroom Hero which I believe was supposed to be played on MTV, but they cut it because of the depiction of violence in the video (which is ridiculous) And when you argue the whole 'Punk is a viewpoint' thing, couldn't you say that the Red Hot Chili Peppers were punk?

yeah, i used to be a big ataris fan. then i saw them with rufio a few weeks ago, and kris was a total asshole to the crowd. I met him afterwards and he was a shithead, so i started giving him crap about his rockstar attitude and he started whining and left. he was incredibly cocky the whole time, and really full of himself. i cant fucking stand the ataris anymore, they are fucking posers who are the antithesis of everything 'punk'

the ataris...not mtv. not punk for the masses. were they on TRL last nite? no. if you did, your on something i wanna get ahold of. pop-punk? is Song 13 a 'pop punk' song. what exactly is pop punk? blink? good charlotte. can you really compare the ataris to them? just because they sing about relationships and growing up, doenst make them pop punk. the new album, So Long Astoria, is more about life and the bands outlook on it, from what ive heard off it so far. the ataris are an excellent band

blue skies broken hearts is only one album though. it was the most pop-punk, yes, i admist that. but thats making a justification based on ONE album. is Anywhere But Here pop-punk? is End Is Forever pop-punk? as for mxpx...definitely NOT hardcore punk. i have one of their albums i got for 2 bucks, and honestly EVERY song sounds EXACTLY the same. they suck

Lagwagon, I have seen the Ataris on MTV, sorry to tell you. It wasn't on TRL or anything, but it was on late at night when they play lesser known videos. So basically looks like you're a tool.

And I saw Thrice on MTV too (to whoever said they saw them also) and it was kinda startling. Whatever though, as long as their new cd isn't too much of a deviation from their current shit, I won't care.

no that was an mxpx album. ive heard a lot of there other stuff, some of it i like. but their newest album?? (the ever passing moment) i didn't like. some of their older stuff is good. and i've heard a lot of NOFX stuff, just to let you know, in case thats what you meant. i like NOFX, great band

I saw the Ataris many many years back when they toured with Lagwagon. Prolly like 5 years ago????

They were good. We bought their album, on Kung Pu records and is was shit! They played a great set, very reminiscent of the 'new' Lagwagon sound. Their album was garbage. I bought the next one, Blue skies, it too I considered pop pap and I bought there latest one too, I don't know why, and I listened to it once. F-in garbage in my opinion! Pop-punk, indefinetly!

yes i know the ataris are pop punk but still they rule, they melodic thats what i like about them, there fully emo too!
