Does anyone else get mad at new skiers?

This past season I learned that I don’t have the patience for new skiers. It’s not that I hate them or they do anything to piss me off but like I said, I don’t have the patience. I’d rather be ripping around and hitting rails. Like for instance, I had a friend who only skis about 2 times a year come with and he’s relatively new. I was only able to keep my sanity because he was half decent. I’m glad I didn’t really have to “teach” him but I don’t think I could teach, and yes I realize everyone learns at their own pace but idk not my thing. Anyone else feel like this?

Also, this is not hating against new people to the sport.

We've all been there and adds great entertainment on the chair . What's I find most amusing is looking over and everyone is skiing in slow motion.

I can handle one new skier just fine, I can’t handle 100,000. I was a pass holder every year since 1996 and finally said fuck it I hate this place

It's not new skiers you get mad it. It's your misunderstanding of what your expectations should be when you ski with someone who isn't at your skill level. Either realize it is going to be a chill ass day and take it easy, or don't ski with people you don't have the patience to ski with. At the end of the day it's up to you, not the new skiers.

horrible take.

hyping up your new friends and making them have a fun day could lead them on to becoming a future ripper like you. they also might remember you hyping them up to try a box or something for the rest of their lives. +they can take clips sometimes

I think you guys are all misinterpreting what I was saying. It’s not that I won’t help new people/friends, I just don’t care for teaching as I don’t have the patience.

damn i hate it when my friends spend a bunch of money get out of their comfort zones to enjoy the sport i love. I cant ski as fast and have to wait a lil at the bottom oh no :(

if you're going out with beginners you gotta realize that its about skiing with them and having fun which means youre not going to ski as much or how you want. fair enough that you don't have the patience for it and couldn't teach but if it really pisses you off then either dont ski with beginners or grow up

Lmao the classic "JUST STAND. UP. SON. YOU'RE MAKING A SCENE" right in the middle of the bunny slope

"GET THE SKIS STRAIGHT" while the kid is literally moosed

You need to become a children’s ski instructor so you can finally blow a fuse and short that line of thinking.

Most people just want to have fun. I remember people being straight up dicks to me in the park as a little kid just trying to learn (granted, I was snowboarding then). It felt really shit.

I can remember going to the bathroom and crying because a guy bitched me out because I fell on a rail and bumped into him (looking back, it was his fault for literally just standing next to the rail).

Dont be that guy. I hate that guy.

when you're with noobs, throw some goodies in your pockets, food beer whatever, and look at it as a different experience-- less as a sport and more as a fun day buzzing around a sick mountain with some friends

also grab a snowboard or some 'blades if you can; it'll help offset the skill level divide and make the mountain feel bigger to you
