Do you uses a roof rack, or fold your back seat down?

You're putting your skis through much more worse things than just a little salt and grime I feel like. I have a rack for my car and it works fine. Little sketch driving in the wind but its all good. I guess it's just all preference.

The only viable option here is to buy a dodge cummins. It can pull your entire hill up mount everest with square blocks for wheels, 45% grade and still get 25 MPG, stock. It's obvious man

But for real, I have a Nissan Frontier and it fucks shit up. Trucks kick ass. Super useful but you get fucked by gas prices the rest of the time

my skis go through the backseat mini ski door thing. i'd take a cargo box over the regular ski rack to prevent my gear getting covered in dirt and salt

Back seat stays down for the whole ski season. I cut and heat molded a big piece of automotive carpet that covers my trunk and my seats.

i've got a "ski condom" that folds out through the middle of the car (aw yeah winter package)but i would need a box if i ever wanted to take 4-5 people

It's really not that bad, I found my entire set up, 50' bars, rocket box, and 400 feet for well under 100 if I remember correctly. Find your fit kit new they're like 45-50 I'm sure used would be cheap. Def worth it. Regarding mpg, It's was on wrx wagon. Didnt really mess with my effecency that much at all. Bearly noticable

haha no ram with a cummins is going to get 25 mpg. their only ram that gets 25 is a single cab piece of shit

I can do either, but I really don't need to fold my seats down when I drive this:

Thank you for saying that finally someone who knows their shit. In before someone claims 30 mpg in a 9klb truck

seat down, that way I dont have to deal with driving a bunch of people to the mountain too.

for people with trucks, ever had your shit fall out? I was behind someone on the way back from the mountain a few weeks ago and his tailgate was open, so I was just waiting for his board to come flying out. It did after about 5 miles, so I grabbed it and then he claims he shut the tailgate but I dont see any way of a tailgate magically opening up on a drive home.

That space in the back is meant to house a waterbed, complete with leopard skin bed linnen and shag pile carpeting in bright orange.

Roof racks are way better if you have a full vehicle of people, but your skis do get covered in dirt and crap from the road, and is definitely kills your gas mileage. If im traveling by myself or only have one passenger, I just fold down one of the back seats and it makes life alot easier.

i have racks but i only use it when i have 5 people in my car, otherwise i fold the seat/seats down. i feel my car looks better w/o the rack and ya my gas mileage suffers.

i have a 98 accord with no roof rack. managed to fit me and 3 other kids with 2 pairs of skis & poles and 2 snowboards, all of our gear, and my transpack. even if i had a rack and could fit 3 in the back seat i feel like that'd just be uncomfortable for the ride up
