Do you use a VPN or Tor Browser?

If so why? I think they can prevent "attacks" against you so I guess that maybe would make sense. I've never been attacked as far as I know. Is there any other reason to use them if you're not doing illegal shit online?

I mean are viruses even still an issue I haven’t seen it on the radar in forever, but I don’t think tor/vpn are supposed to protect against them anyway.

A VPN is used to create a "virtual private network" (that's what it stands for) meaning your identity is anonymous and your data can not be collected. You can choose any location in the world if you like, it has many applications, lots of large companies require their employees to log in with a VPN to access their private networks to avoid a breach.

Tor browsers are used to access the dark web.

neither of these things have anything to do with computer viruses
 
I always use VPN on NS because the mods here creep on your IP. On other sites usually no, but the mods here are crazier than reddit mods.
 
Really thankful for VPNs and disposable Email addresses as it makes creating new NS accounts a 30 second process. Effectively making mods here just a little bit more worthless than they already are. Might as well just have a anonymous poster feature because making new accounts it's about as easy as signing in.

the concept of the dark web always perplexed me, like ur telling me theres websites that just don't show up if ur on google chrome??

yes, .onion sites can only be loaded in the tor browser. there are a very small number of websites that work both on the regular internet and the darknet

there are tens thousands, if not hundreds, of websites google blocks from their search engines too, they aren't the only search engine that does that either.

we can see which IP you log in with, just like every other website in existence.
