So my wife has never skied a day in her life, today we were out shopping and we stopped at stertavents in Bellevue WA and we walked away about 1500 dollars poorer. I got her skis, boots, bindings, poles, a helmet, a couple hats and outerwear. She's rocking som of last seasons high end gear. I want her to look like she lives at crystal. what do you think of chicks looking legit with no clue?

btw im drunk as f

Eh I don't know. It shouldn't really matter. If it's stuff she'll feel confident then fuck it; It's worth it. But it doesn't matter too much in other people's eyes. The only people who care about what other people are wearing are 12 year old park rats.

i would be hammered too if my wife spent $1500 for no reason

I spent it on her. I also just spent 12,000 on a ktm dirbike. when you grow up a little youll make a bit more money.

true I guess. thats the key word confident, thats what I want her to be.

Who cares... But seriously yeah its fine. At the end of the day you're bangin a skier chick. Win/win

what if she doesnt enjoy it? also the 12,000 on a dirt bike feels like this thread might have just been a claim thread..

My wife hasn't been on skis since we had kids. I bought her a full norrona get up, new faction skis, marker griffons and she picked out some sure foot boots.

I want her to be just as confident when she gets on skis this seas as she was 6 years ago before she blew her knee out and started making kiddos.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If she is confident comfortable and looking good you will be happy, because she is!

I think you might need to money management strategies.

Depends on how much he earns....Like if you're flush with cash what's the issue.

Yeah if he can't afford to pay the electricity bill but buys the bike....Then there's money management issues

Nah dude, good gear is worth all the money. Getting her boots was a smart decision, rental boots are shit. And as far as outerwear goes, it's best she feels confident in what she is wearing, but it's not like you bought her a $600 patagonia jacket.

just because you make money doesnt mean you should waste it. sorry for the dub post

As long as she's committed utilizing all her new equipment to the fullest I don't see the issue! new stuff could serve as a nice incentive for her to get out more often and try a little harder, and at the very least she will be comfortable and as confident as possible when learning!

people here are too funny. do you really think that a few lines of drunken boasts are enough to get a remotely accurate idea of what this guy's financially situation is like?

chyyyllll

The boots were the best purchase. In my opinion, what turns new skiers away the most is uncomfortable equipment. I remember when I was younger and rocking painful, ill-fitting rental boots

If your going to suck at something...might as well look good doing it. Thats my personal motto on things i'm not good at. Id rather look good than suck and look like crap.

Plus its your wife....not like your dropping $1500 on your girlfriend. She'll never have to get new gear unless she actually enjoys skiing and get sbetter

definitely fine. its rad that you want your wife to be ballin out. its not like it matters that much what she wears, but if you have the money to spend on a dope outfit then why not look like a G rather than a fudgy nomsayiiinnnn

You best be careful people are going to be trying to steal your girl.

Also I think it's fine you spent the money rather than spending 500 on used "crappy" stuff a month or so later or even next season decides she wants some new gear and then you spend the 1500. That way you saved 500 bucks.

Agree! If you have the money to spend, why not? Just make sure she'll gonna love the sport or else your $1500 will be a waste! Just sayinn too! :)
