Do You Realize?

That there are a lot of things that we may not realize even though we think/walk by/do etc.. them every day? Like the fact that some guy in the world found out that it's better to wash your hair with the active ingredient in shampoo than regular soap? Post up your realizations...

Inb4 you realized OP is gay or that you realize this thread sucks etc..

The fact that all of our cells function with such perfect cohesiveness and mess up so rarely is just mind boggling, like straight up cool, incredible shit. Sophomore bio class ftw.

whoever ate the first baby must have been pretty sensible, because they are delicious.

oh come on i love it.

who was the first person to light weed on fire and inhale it?

who realized eating satisfied hunger?

who first realized sex made babies?

I have so many more but im too tired and not high enough. to be continued

ps RIP Mac D R E

respiration is a major part of what keeps you alive. you never pay attention to it. why do you neglect such an important process? this is your constant physical interaction with the universe. breathing exercises can be an effective pathway to mental health and enlightenment.

Every girl you've ever checked out or God forbid fucked is someone's daughter...

Who was the first person to tame a dog and keep it as a pet?

Also, who was the first person to cook meat?

Happens all the time when I choose to walk/ride my bike instead of drive places. You obviously see so much more stuff as you pass because you can look around more.

really always wondered about that shit. also, like back in stonge age or so, how did people know that certain plants are poisonuos? the try-and-error thing has its obvious problems, but i really cant see how it was much different.

I took a speed reading course at my college. If you just have your eyes skim over reading without conciously thinking about the words your subconciously will still pick up most of what is said. I can now move my eyes as fast as they can across a page and still have about an 70-80% retention rate

every person that you've seen in your entire life has a story behind their life, this is what most people fail to realize when they're looking at work of a photographer who does portraits. i only recently realized this and the significance behind it and it pisses me off when people say portraits are boring. they're more fascinating than any of us could ever imagine

every place you've glanced at has had a tragic event and a joyous event occur there at one point

all those run down stores and shops or the "FOR SALE" signs, they're all physical representations of somebody's life-long dream torn apart

someone died in many different places you've been to

i don't know if you any of you out there have that one song that means the world to you like i do, whether it carries significance personally like the memory of a lost loved one or just simply brings you back to a good memory, but its weird to think about how every random song you've heard carries incredible importance to somebody out there

i also like to keep in mind that most people you see on a daily basis will never see you again their entire lives.... so sometimes i do things in wonder of it it could be remembered by the people around me

i also like to look at people and wonder what they've been through all their lives... if they've had a good day or a bad day or a good year or a bad year... if i read a book of their life, would i find it interested.... would they find my story interesting.... shit like this is pretty cool to think about

last thing i promise, but whenever i see a plane i imagine that i'm someone on that plane looking out of the window and i think it's hilarious that i'm looking at the plane and someone on the plane could be looking right at me and they'd never know it and neither would i

i agree. especially with foods.

imagine how stoked the guy who invented rice crispie squares was. same with the dude who discovered popcorn.

what a fucking good day that was

i think its important that people keep trying to invent new foods, im currently working on a couple, ill post the results when theyre completed

I always like to wonder what a place was like exactly 100 years ago.

Or what it would be like to take someone from the origin of something to present day. Like imagining taking the guys who started a baseball team as their little local club and being like "oh by the way, that little game you played in an empty field is now a billion dollar industry"

So let them know you realize that life goes fast, it's hard to make the good things last. Realize the sun doesn't go down, it's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round.

That should be a song.

Everyone around you has an impact on your life. Every little thing you do, every little thing anyone else around you does. Even if someone around you does something that you may think does not directly have an impact on your life. It will either directly or indirectly impact your future or thought process in a positive, negative, or extremely minute way without you even realizing at most times.

sometimes i think about if i went back in time like 5 years, and did one little thing different, like not brush my teeth one day, or wake up one minute later. What would I be doing at this exact moment that would be different?

Everything you have ever lost is somewhere in the world.. Probably pretty close to you. Frustrating isn't it?

Also, some thoughts inspire by the thread about a diamon heist. Do you realize there are some motherfuckers out there who are real life "Italian Job" type characters? And that there are fucking hitmen and special agents and drug lords in the world, and at some point all of those people were babies being held in their mothers arms? Or were little kids running around?

definitely not haha

i sometimes have that in a much more short term feeling... like i'll walk out of my dorm and my best friend will be walking by and i'll think back to when i first woke up like "if i had taken 3 more seconds to brush my teeth what would've happened today...?"

it's crazy.

also has anybody hear of Solipsism? its the belief that nothing exists except for your own mind, and that everybody and everything is a creation that stems from your mind. i don't believe in it for the most part but it's a cool thing to think about.

dreams are also fucking weird. i only dream about things that are relevant to my life, and i usually only dream very short dreams. i've made a habit of setting an alarm for like 7, waking up, then going back to bed till 8 because something about REM sleep and waking up then going back to bed encourages dreams and its worked really well. i can always tell what is most prevalent on my mind from what i dream about, like i used to think dreams were super random but none of my recent ones have been.

ex. i've been chilling with this girl for a while and me and her are real close, hooked up a few times, i'm into her, she's into me, etc... and i've also been playing around with ideas for moving away somewhere but i'm not sure where i'd want to go. then last night i have a dream that spanned probably a minute of dream time. me and said girl are in a train station (european i suppose) and theres a train leaving but were wavering about getting on or not because we don't know where it goes. i look at her and say "why not?" and then we got on the train, then the dream ended.

weird shit.
