Do you miss him yet?

this had better not be a dig directed at me.

because for the record i am 20, a sophomore in college, being inducted into the honor society, and do not think him to be the worst president of all time. yet;)

ide tell everyone my pick but i dont need the thread to go completely off track.

who needs cable news, i was listening to Rush by the time i was 8.

(JOKES)

Come to think of it, I miss George Washington. But yea, Obama ain't lookin too pretty right now. Approval ratings a 44%. lolz. what's better is that McCain may get ousted by a more conservative candidate. serves him right.

OH, BEN! She's awful. I don't hate her, but I think she is the quintessential epitome of arrogance, even more so than her husband and his patronizing, self-important style. Seriously, Michelle is going to solve the obesity problem, what arrogance. I don't think either of them, nor Bush (less so) exude the republican (as in republic, not the party. I.e. virtue, honesty, integrity,) qualities that a POTUS should have.

haven't you ever studied that shit? from the early republic of the US. Everything was about the proper virtue becoming of a republican(someone who favored a republic). It was extremely important. I'm not saying anything about how I feel about them in a personal context. I would love to meet Obama. His former doctor goes to the same place in the summer in Maine as I do, and this summer I was hoping Obama would make a trip up the coast to visit him while he was at Cape Cod. Anyway, I think it's important, you obviously don't/

I have cooked/served him and his wife dinner before.

It's a claim but the catering company I work for has very loyal customers in the Bush family. They send a lot of business our way.

i think CMT should give him a late nite talk show like the george lopez show.

i'd totally tune in to see him interview people and go "heh heh heh heh heh" all the time.

so sick. I saw him on his boat in Kenneybunkport, ME last summer. He waved to me. It was actually fucking awesome to be acknowledged by a President of the United States. From the people I have talked to in Kenneybunkport, the Bush's are an extremely affable and down to earth family. Bush Sr. gives a speech there on the fourth of july every year. People come out in droves. Incredibly nice bunch of folks.

Also, my uncle went to Phillips Andover with Bush Sr. for Highschool. Both served in WWII. He got a letter from Bush Sr. on his 50th wedding anniversary. very cool

regardless of whether he's a nice dude or not, he was a badass in ww2. (you probably know this already but) his bomber got hit or something over wake island (i think) and he stayed in the longest and held the plane in a direction that would let everyone else jump out safely, then finally got control again and then went down off the coast of the island, in sight of the japs, but a submarine picked him up before they could come grab him. i guess they interviewed one of the japanese soldiers who saw it happen and he said he remembers turning to his fellow soldier and saying something like "wow the americans sure do care about their pilots" haha

They knew it would end up on the internet. They paid a cheap price because its in the middle of nowhere but knew it would get more views on the internet, or in other media

I know, it's an amazing story. I have the utmost respect for him for his service. The same with JFK, he had a crazy WWII rescue story as well. His ship was torpedoed in the Salomon Islands and he and some of the survivors had to swim to a nearby island. They met a native there, and Kennedy wrote a message on a coconut for that native to take to the nearest US position in order to get them to send a boat back to rescue them. Insane story, they have the coconut on display at the Kennedy library. Even though I'm not a big Kennedy fan, I have the utmost respect for him as well. Now his brother, Teddy, is another story. despicable human being.

I've been claiming quite a bit in this thread, but I am related to the Kennedy Family.

My last name is Kennedy and we are a branch on their family tree.

/Claim.

Thought of this and had to bump it, sorry.

HOWEVER, the answer is more ever.

Maybe instead of worrying about healthcare and people without fucking jobs and with welfare and such, start worrying more about the situation with all these school closings. For kids who have a chance to make a fucking difference in this gentle world now a days. Closing schools=firing teachers+losing jobs+cramped schools+kids getting away with bullying+bigger class sizes+little jimmy can't read and goes un-noticed+less special classes+cutting after school activites=more dropouts, less people going to college, etc and ultimately, MORE PEOPLE NEEDING FUCKING HEALTHCARE. Did that make sense? I havent seen Obama address this problem. Bush was all for education. (Maybe cause most believed he didn't get one?)

I understand people on disability who need healtcare and college grads needing healthcare to 25/26.

/end rant.

Thanks for bumping a thread to say something stupid. http://a3.twimg.com/profile_images/501170851/Jerry_Garcia_Window_Sticker_bigger.jpg[.img]

Anyone who misses him has a shorter memory span than a goldfish. And has very little realisation of what a good job he's doing fixing your economy. And probably watches FOX News....

WAHT?

Bush was just "obama light"
he A bailed out everything that walked.
B dabbled with government intervention healthcare.

but 2 of the bigger issues people have with Obama bush started.

really, explain to me the intricate differences between what Bush did with the economy and Obama did.

keep in mind that Bush actually grew the economy the majority of time he was in office. and dont give me this capitalism being unsustainable bullshit line unless youre gonna back it up.

I never said Bush did too badly with the economyI was judging Obama on what he's done. And you can't credit healthcare to Bush. Obama's taken that so much further than anyone else.Bush's internal policy wasn't awful infact. Some more regulation in the banks would've been better to ensure that so much shit hit so many fans, but noone really caught that, it's just that you were deeper into sub-prime mortgages than most.
However, that is a mistake he made, leaving a market to be free will end up large booms and bust, ultimately it will grow - it's just how you manage that to protect the public.
More importantly (fuck this is longer than i intended), His foreign policy was the worst. Not just the wars, which were fucking awful. He managed to take your country in 8 years from something to aspire to to the most hated nation on earth. Obama has done so much to repair that it's unimaginable. The middle east don't love you but europeans are warming up to you again (as a nation, i have no beef with individuals myself)
