Hi guys,

I was wondering wether you like to listen to music while riding, and if yes, what kind?

As for me, my best investment of the year (except for my skis!) was the 130€ spent on helmet speakers. It changes everything!! And I love to listen to dancehall. You?

Yes i listen to music while i ride. I don't have helmet speakers i just use my ear buds. I listen to Techno, Trance, Hip-Hop, Electronica, Rap, Crunkkkkk, basically anything with a strong beat that gets you pumped.

Yes indeed I listen to music while I ski. Mostly rap, electronica, and mashups my friends have made. Gets me pumped. But yeah, anything upbeat with a good tune works.

Yea upbeat stuff for the park is awesome but riding the pow, I prefer to listen to "calm" music exactly like the Candide Kamera soundtrack.

in the park i'll listen to hip hop or some hard rock
when im cruising around i put on some reggae

ya i listen to music almost every time i go up skiing, i have speakers in my helmet and i usually listen to jazzy hip hop with good flow and thats really smooth.

reggae and softer stuff for powder and hiphop and electro (indiestuff mostly)
and radio while shoveling :D

i stopped after i realized it was killing my lift conversations. i like to meet new people! and you can play all sorts of games while riding with your friends.

but most surpisingly i find i can focus better without music.

I never used to i found it put me off, but then all of a sudden it didn't so now i like to listen to Eletronic music like MSTRKFT, Justice, La Roux, Aphex Twin, and various other bands in similarish veins. But when i' being a pussy or i wan to go at it hard i listen to music like Bring Me The Horrizion;

Bring Me The Horizon - The Comedown from Tom Worth on Vimeo.

you don't like that do you?

No, I don't. it kills conversations, and you can never hear what's going on around you. BUT, I met this dude who had a backpack with built in speakers. That was cool, because he had a legit system on his back and everyone was listening to the same beats. Some gapers got mad on the lift, though...

Music used to throw me off, but now I can't stand to ski without it. If I'm riding with a bunch of people, or meeting people on the chairlift, I like to just have it as background noise. But when I'm skiing alone (I usually do) I like to blast that shit ha. I've started listening to really expirimental metal lately, which is pretty awesome upbeat music that get's me excited haha.

I load up on listening to music on the ride. Once I get to the hill it's about meeting up with the crew, turning off the rest of the world, and shredding it up.

MSTRKRFT and Justice are staples of the mid-winter pow slashing drive....... Galactic, Medski Martin and Wood, and other funky stuff comes out for the spring.

By dmb you mean Dave Matthews Band? If yes I do understand why, it's smooth. A music to ride regular slopes I guess :)

sometimes.. but i get really sick of taking them out of my ears when my friends try and talk to me.. it gets real annoying so sometimes i just don't listen.

rap, indie, alternitive.. techno, music from ski movies.. etc.

Kinda. When there's anybody else but me off-piste around like 4pm, I just listen to the wind :) It's a really amazing moment.

But when you have all the tourists around hell yea I prefer my music!

i have my buds tied to the inside of my helmet flap so it hangs near my ear but not in my ear. i turn it up enough so i can hear it on the lift but so i can hear whats goin on around me when i ski or when i talkin to someone. works pretty well imo

What I generally listen to in the park: MSTRKRFT,Hathbanger, Hilltop Hoods, Zion I, Jay-Z, J Dubs, Dj Nyce, Dj Brock, Macklemore,Blue Scholars, Digitalism, Justice, Ratatat and Ratatat Remixes, MadonnaRemixes, Milkman mashups, Timati, September, Basshunter, Guru Josh Project,Boys Noize, Simian Mobile Disco, The Glitch Mob, Lil’ Kim, Dilated Peoples,Atmosphere, Jedi Mind Tricks, MC Solaar, Black Eyed Peas, MGMT, Julez Santana, some U2, Dr. Dre, Aqua, Beck…What I generally listen to in pow: Manifest Nextome, CutCopy, Paul Simon, Dido, Anna Nalick, Yann Tiersen, Fru Fru, Kya Bamba, BobMarley, Dave Matthews Band, Heidi Talbot, Sufjan Stevens, The Posies, SmashingPumpkins, Nelly Furtado (her older music), Tori Amos, Citizen Cope, Red HotChili Peppers, Delerium, Mogwai, Damien Rice, Enya, Moby, Modest Mouse, CatPower, Iron & Wine, The Stills, Mum, Mogwai, Dido, Paul Simon, Portishead,Grateful Dead, Radiohead…Wow, that was a lot.

^That stinks...all my stuff got mushed together. Just ignore the complete lack of spaces. I don't know how that happened.

when im just shredding the park or groomers ill bump rap and 80's rock. but when im skiing pow and in the trees, i need reggae or i just dont listen to anything

Arcade Fire anyone? I love listening to them while skiing. I do an all rap playlist soemtimes, usually when i'm jibbing around. I put on Iron Maidon and the like when I feel like going really fast down groomers. Tokyo police club, oh no oh my, los campesinos are good too.

I never used to, but once i started i found it so much better. It also cancels out gapers on the lift, and i like skiing alone, so it really doesn;t bother me.
