Do you hear "the hum"?

Kept hearing this shit and I couldn't sleep. I'm still kinda freaked out from it... It sounds similar to the sounds used in Paranormal Activity...

I have this extremely loud ringing (white noise-esque) in my ears at all times. It's fucking annoying and makes me wut when people talk.

To everyone saying stuff about ringing ears, thats tinnitus, and can be diagnosed.

This is not tinnitus.

It's like a low rumbling sound that can be heard in the distance, but its direction can't be pinpointed (at least I couldn't pinpoint it). It seems to come from everywhere, almost like its just emanating from the air... it's strange. But I know it's not in my head, since I plugged my ears and I could no longer hear it.

It seems to start abruptly, and sometimes gradually gets louder until it suddenly stops. Other times, it doesn't get any louder. I've only noticed it at night when everything is quiet.
