Do you guys ski with backpacks??

Well where else are you going to put all your gear?

Backpacks are the best for BC as you ensure you carry all your gear you need and not split it 50/50 with a friend or something. Which is an accident waiting to happen.

no but its funny to see people go down the hill with a backpack when theyre not even doing bc

hahah yeah i love seeing people at my mountain of like 2000 ft skiing with backpacks on and shit. i just laugh...

only on backcountry powder days, or when im going to be hiking a seperate mountain off the resorts

not really, but for a little while last year my gay friend wore a g-bag on some park shreddin days and it was pretty fun to hear music playing all the time... even though I had other music in my headphones...

well i skied with a camalback for a week when we were in Utah but that was partly because i was sick and needed a drink every minute. But it worked nicely on powder days because i carried an extra pair of gloves and things like that when mine got wet.

only time i ever ski with one is with my camera stuff... even then i find it kind of annoying but i have no where else for everything

i will next season

camera,food,extra goggles etc

just got a Line remote pack

what kind of packs do you all use?

yeah, i have a camel back for stuff, but i never use it

i just pack a gatorade in my coat pocket for hiking rails

The dakine heli pro kicks ass for BC excursions...

but if you wear it for anything other than that, you look like a total fucktard.

I have a Heli Pro I wear 90% of the time inbounds. Avy gear is required for part of the mountain I'm usually at, so I almost always have a shovel, beacon, probe, etc. For backcountry I have a 32L anarchist with all my stuff I bring out in the mountains. I must look like a TOTAL fucktard with that thing on!

only when its my turn to carry the backpack on a filming day. it sucks though because you can't try any tricks when you have a camera to preserve, so it is annoying.

theres kids at my school who use heli pro as there bookbag just cus they like the design and they don't know what any of the fetures like the shovel holter/pocket is for

Ya I think that would be a good idea.

Where do you keep your probe, shovel, samiches, and pop if you dont have one?

Be prepared kids, too many people gettin mirked because theyre not prepared.

i used to wear one all the time with a shovel and food in it. i hate it though (wearing it in the park and stuff, not the pack itself - arcteryx M20; id recommend the M30 for sure). now i only wear it if i absolutely have too, like when doing bc or have a camera, even with a camera though, i leave it with a lifty a lot so that i can have some fun runs too. basically essential if you're doing out of bounds; please take a probe, shovel and beacon... be good with them. if youre just doing in bounds bc, it depends if you want to just build a booter and sesh it all day, or just hit big lines i guess, and if you're willing to head down for lunch at the chalet or whatever.

spark notes: id avoid it wherever possible, but if you have stuff you need to carry (probe, shovel, food, camera), i think the answer is kinda obvious.

You might start doing it for back country? Does that mean you have been skiing back country without one? Dumb move.

If you are doing slack country a 20 liter bag is fine. pack heavy shit at the bottom. It helps with balance and is better for your back.

i only use one when i have to carry a shovel but mine has a hydration system where a camelsback fits in this inside sleve and goes up the strap to your shoulder. its a dakine pro2 matchstick productions special edition. my brother won it at the seven sunny days premier. i also use it to carry my skis while i hike or sled.

DOOD ITS SO SICK HITTIN THE PARK WITH YOUR BACKPACK ON!! YOU LOOK LIKE SUCH A G! BECAUSE PEOPLE LOOK AT YOU AND ARE LIKE OMGZ LOOK AT THAT PRO! WHEN YOU ARE JUST BRO CHILLIN STOMPIN 180s OFF THE HUGE KICKERS!

fuckin rad

lol

i dont but after watching those videos of how to ski rails, backwards and do a spread eagle by expert village i think i may have to! that guy blew my mind with his backback

i only do if im not going to be doing jumps and ill be filming instead, or if its a pow/cold day

yea same here, I have the northface offchute but i only use it in backcountry. I used to use it on groomers becuase i thought i looked cool, but i figured out that i looked liek a fagoot. it is nice to cary food and water though.
