to simplify it:
all that was banned under the ban was the futureproduction of certain makes of weapons model designations: ie m-16 (now produced under AR-15, so LEGAL) just diff names. as well as the future manufacture of high capacity magazines over 10 rd.s as well as THE FUTURE munufacture of: flash suppressors, bayonet lugs, and colapsable stocks
here:
'Gun-shop owners said the expiration of the ban would have little effect on the types of guns and accessories that are typically sold and traded across their counters every day...
At the Boise Gun Co., gunsmith Justin Davis last week took a black plastic rifle resembling the U.S. military's standard-issue M-16 from a row of more than a dozen similar weapons stacked against a wall.
The civilian version of the gun, a Colt AR-15 manufactured before 1994, could be sold last week just as easily as it can be sold this week.
'It shoots exactly the same ammo at exactly the same rate of fire,' said Davis...
National Rife Association Vice President Wayne LaPierre told FOX News on Monday that the guns being legalized 'are no different than any other hunting gun, any other handgun ... We're not talking about machine guns or rapid-fire' guns.'

i know you will all say its null-and-void cause its fox news, but i pulled the actual facts from the article, and left opinions on the original ban out. so this is no-spin
hehehe, looks like there is really no diff between the world before and after the ban.
