i love living i montana. its pretty low key. except lately ive seen like a million out of state license plates in town.

damn dude, i didnt know 70 was THAT bad. is that a normal weekend or holiday?
i can definitely see why they would want to put a tax on it. or a ski train from denver.

its that bas on weekends, holidays and pow days. during the week its just fine. otherwise thats normal for a skier weekend, pow day or holiday.

eaglecrest, juneau, alaska. outta my buds i live the furthest away and its about a 40 min drive. on a good day hittin all the lights right get there in half hour. other people are like 5 min away.

luckily i've never had a problem driving to loon, waterville, or sugarloaf..driving a standard in bumper to bumper sucks

dude, dont even start, ittl take you over 3 hours to get to the nearest mountain in washington if youre near the city on a weekend, traffic here is a joke, we're rated #3 in the nation for worst traffic, behind ny and boston. trust me, in washington its either live at the mountain with no nightlife and serious local weirdos or deal with the traffic. Id move to montana if i were looking to avoid traffic.

nope its not like that at all, but i usually leave earlier then most people in portland do to beat the traffic. but sometimes on the way back depending if there is an accident or not it can look like that.

in that traffic here in colorado, it takes you like 3 hours to get 60 miles. People come from Denver to get to like four different mountains. thats why there is so much traffic.

yea dude, im just saying, washington is not the solution, we've got 3 mountains (maybe 4) and the closest you can get is far. doesn't even matter. i feel for you though, sounds like colorados got it tough. maybe even tougher than us. our roads just suck.

Washington is OK. I live 50 miles south of WA/BC border. ski at red mtn bc+no traffic=awesome

or fuck that and move to rossland where it's a 10 minute walk to the hill from town

always hear about I-70 on TGR.

anyway, it's only like that when it snows and all these random cars with Vermont plates can't make it up the hill and slide out and get stuck.. see that dude with Jersey plates going around you and getting first tracks? that's me.. bitches.

really though, you'd think they're used to that kind of weather? no..?

The traffics alway real bad here and i have a 70% chance of dieing on the roads here, so i could die on my way to ski dubai.

i hat2 i70 sooo much, but its normally not that bad its only bad when 50 stupid fucks cant make it up floyd hill when its snowing

45 mins drive there with no to minimum traffic

But leaving at about 5ish on a sunday is never your best bet, your just asking for it.

god i70 is sooo terrible....especially when they shut the fucker down for avvy clearing. (i know they have to but it sucks to sit there for an hour)

JEA!!!! JERSEY REPRESENT!!!.... when i got out to utah, i couldnt understand how people thought the nj drivers were bad, i mean i know were aggressive and can be a tad "road rageish" sometimes, but god, ive never seen a larger bunch of incompetent drivers in the world!!! especially on snowy days going up the canyon....

oh yea, noone move to SLC... takes almost 5 hours to get to any of the major 7 resorts on any given day... and by that i mean no more the 45 minutes during the worst day.

To get to Stratton its a 20 minute drive, 15 if the roads are good. I remember my trip out to CO and it was like that and i hated the shit out of I-70

Yea, the any clearing sucks, last year theyh would close the tunnel before they were even close to ready. Thay almost ran out of explosives to blow it.

Its not too bad. 93 and 91 get a little conjested during peak times of the season, as does rt. 100 up in WIlmington area...but it's really not bad at all.

Last season, I just walked or caught the free bus right outside my apartment. It took about 15 minutes to walk to the gondola.

You guys are suckers.

When night skiing isnt open, everyone rushes for the cars at 4:00. Takes an hour to get up there, 2-3 coming down, stop and go on a two lane mountain highway, because of some stupid fuckheads genius idea to put a timed light in at Sultan. Fuck US 2.

What are you guys really complaining about? I'd give my left testicle to be able to drive to a ski resort most weekends! I know traffic can be annoying but you should be really grateful that you can just hop in a car and get there. For me to get to a close resort i have to get on a bus, then a plane, then fork out some money for a taxi, ski for a week or two and come home.

So if anyone is willing to trade there current traffic-ridden nightmare of reality for a testicle PM me.

P.S I'm joking about the testicle bit

P.P.S But if you seriously want to trade get in contact.

ive got two hills around me....both suck pretty bad, but theres never any traffic..one i take the interstate to, and there are never any cars so i tap on the cruise control and go around 80 all the way there...the other hill is only like 20 min from my house, but i have to drive through the boonies to get there...skiing sucks in NY.

Two trains and a bus.

I gotta get up at around 5.30 to have time for the train, but traffic isnt too much of a problem in Scotland.
