it used to be true about 5 years ago but i am starting to find more people who used to snowboard and now ski
 
well that was true when snowboarding was catching on and everyone was starting to do it and no one had quit yet. now its kind of leveled off and people come and go as well.
 
not true at all...two weeks ago, talked to a REI employee and he told me he ski's now instead of snowboarding. He had been snowboarding for 13 years too.
 
I switched from boarding to skiing about 6 years ago (though I used to ski before that) and I would never go back...boarding is fucking boring compared to skiing.
 
id say it goes like this. early-skiing, prepubescant-snowboarding, mid teen-skiing, skiing until you decide you are to cool.

whats funny is that most of the people that "used to ski" are the ski week skiers, who went up once a year and rented shitty k2's and pizzaed down the mountain.

now those fags have purchased shitty world industries boards and flutter down the hill, alternating between their heel edge and their ass.
 
and people who "used to ski" are people who skied for 60 years, and are now too old and have no knees. Snowboarding wasn't an option 60 years ago, so you don't have that base
 
My friend who got me into freeskiing rided first. Im like i wanna ride and he's like no you dont, Ive done it for 4 years and I find skiing a hell of a lot better. Its fun now cause we talk skiing in front of some people and they are like what the hell are they talking about?
 
i have never been on a snowboard ever,, but i was a tallywhacker before i fixed the heel and i will never ever drop a knee for a face shot EVER.
 
i have 2 friends who switched from boarding to twin-tips. one of them skied before he boarded, but he still came back from snowboarding.
 
I work at a ski/board shop and this year its rediculous how many snowboarders are converting to twins. We carry K2 (enemy,fugative,silencer), salomon (thruster,foil), rossi scratch, armada AR6 and Atomic triplets. We carry tons of stock and now we have one pair of each kind left
 
I snowboarded for two years ago (before it was 'cool' though)

I switched back to skiing when I got my enemys with that tiny 'tip' at the back that skis have now anyway.

What forum was this?
 
i snoboarded with a friends board for a couple of runs a week ago and since ive done it off and on over the years i wasnt terrible or anything. I found it to be increibly boring even while hitting a couple of boxes. It felt so good to get the skis back on again
 
i started off snowboarding for two seasons, i got good quick but skiing just seemed so natural and looked steezier. So i bought a used pair of PE's from 04-05, learned to ski and loved it. This year bought the new FUJI's and dont plan on ever looking back. Period.
