i do beleive in God, and go to church every week. its the one place i can go that gets me away from all the BS the world throws at you. i'm not going to get up in your face about not beleiving in God, but i'll just say that what do you have to lose by beleiving? wouldnt you like to live forever?

i'm not trying to bash ya here xski, but i don't buy into the whole 'what do you have to lose by beleiving?' thing. if i believe in something it's for a strong and viable reason, not just because. that's just giving lip service to God and not really something that you fell in your heart. you can't force yourself to believe in something you really don't feel just because you having nothing to lose by doing so. anyhow, i believe in something bigger than us, just not necessarily a 'God'

^ dont get angry at me, but personally i think that church is one of those 'BS' things that the world throws at me...i think its people who have been sucked into believing in god try to force it upon other people..i think christianity is not a good example, but look at jehova's witnesses...the fucking try to make everyoen else belive their BS. this is just my take on religion..i really dont think there is a god, but then again i could be wrong..

see, thats the thing that gives christianity a bad name. televangelists, jehovas witnesses, or anyone who goes around blasting your going to hell. and i didnt mean just say you beleive. the 'christian lifestyle' isnt being so uptight you cant have fun. just go to a local youth group sometime, or go see a christian rock concert, someone like Pillar or Switchfoot. try it, and if its not for you, then what can you do?

I know sometimes when I;m out alone, skiing hiking or otherwise, ya know sometimes you just dont feel alone, like there is something else out there that you can't feel or touch. Yes there is a'supreme being' I just dont know if its God, Allah or what

all I know is that I will figure it out on my own, for that is what eyes and ears and your minds was designed to do figure stuff out

there was a post about this a while ago, but yes i believe in god, and im behind waht xski has to say....i know i wont convince anyone of anything though but maybe just see whats out there before you decide that you dont believe in god or whatever, you should have a good reason not to believe. i believe because i havnt found a reason not to

no, there is not 'obviously a god', your belief is simply that, a personal opinion in which you happen to believe in god, or a higher being, or whatever you want to call it. Peronally, I don't believe in god, and I don't believe that what the bible says is true, but at times I believe in a higher being, at times I don't, I still haven't quite made up my mind.

belief in god or a specific religion is the same as a personal preference of a song or a movie, some people may love a song, others hate it. you believe in god and the bible, others don't.

i agree that is is personal preferance i think that like i said above that people need to explore what they are not believing in though, whether its a god or not, because i think that a lot people find it easy to just say i dont belive in god. its an easy way out of topic not many people wanna deal with. if you have good reason not to believe in god, other than there is no prove of god (because there are many sources other than the bible that prove god existance)than go right ahead and believe that.

I don't believe in god because I simply don't think it's plausible. I don't need a reason for why I don't believe in it. There is absolutely no need to have a 'good reason' for an opinion, I just don't believe in god, it's as simple as that.

I believe in God. I have a really strong connection with him and I talk to him a lot and I read my bible occasionally but i don't go to church

2.for the scientific types here occams razor - the easiest answer is the correct one- God is the easiest answer, as opposed to a random explosion creating order out of disorder

^most of the scientific world actually ascribes to this, just not the major scientific organizations

I dont believe in anything at all. Maybe its because i find the idea of faith a problem. To me its totaly rediculus to ask for blind faith with no proof. My views are that religion has served a purpose to bind people together and provide the 'glue' for society. It allows people to have something in commen, an 'ice breaker' to start a conversation.

It also allows people to avoid the question of 'what is the point of it all' and provides people with an escape from the trials of life.

By no means am i being insulting or condesending to people who do believe. If it works for them then that is great, as long as their views do not affect or impinge on my life.

 
I believe in God, I was raised to do so. However, that is not my reasoning behind my beliefs, I have devloped my own reasons for being a Christian. I do go to church just about every sunday, yet I do not follow the atypical Christian lifestyle, I do have my vices, and lots of them. I do believe that religon is a 'glue' that holds the world together, because as Voltaire atated 'If there were no God then it would be nessicary to invent him.'

Incidently I find that science requires more blind faith then Christianity or any religon for that matter. Ultimately it all boils down to faith and ones own choice.

after being in one of the worst car accidents in my area fatality or not, it sorta makes me believe in something that decided to keep us alive. i didnt have my seatbelt on 2 minutes before the accident, but i had a gut feeling to put it on. i put it on 2 minutes later the driver passes out, we hit a culvert, go airbourne and hit a tree going 65 roof first, the tree collapsed the entire right side of the car into a pancake. the frame also folded in half i was in the back seat in the right (tree hit right over me and the passanger) the impact to the tree was so hard my body folded the back seat in half. nobody knows how anyone from the car lived. one kid was thought to be dead on scene, another impaled with a tree through his chest unconsious, and me in the back with my leg twisted femur sticking out of my body and a body laying on me. we are all alive, for some reason.
