Do you believe in god?

I do not believe in a god, I beleive in what you may call a spirit or an energy. I think that all energy held within us and everything around is joined in some celestial way. I feel I am part of something so utterly real that you feel small. The power of nature to me is stupidfying. It has the power to destroy anything it wants to, or it can bring you the most pleasureable of experiences. For me, I try to unify with it.

The way I refer to energy is not in in "electricity" sort of way. More so the energy that anything has. Trees have energy, snow has energy, and we are filled with energy. Just combine yourself with everything else and only good can happen.

i must note that although i don't believe in god, i have the utmost respect for people who use their spirtuality/faith to better themselves INDIVIDUALLY. i.e., mormons, i think, are pretty backwards in what they believe. yet, i have never met members of a religious group more hard-working, dedicated, and friendly than Mormons.

yes i believe in god. i have proof also. one afternoon last summer after a great flood, the hands of god parted the sky for the sun to shine upon earth.

You're blowin it dude...calling people idiots is not gonna convince them to change their minds..Where's the love man?

I am down with Jesus. But I'm not down with shoving it down peoples throats.

its really hard for me to believe in god, cuz it seems so unreal and impossible, but also, when ur raised a catholic and go to catholic school, its like instilled in ur mind the fact that there is one. he also has never really done anything for me, so how can i?

i sometimes dont wanna believe or think a god exists, but at the same time, im like what if he does and i get fucked over in the end for not believing in him...

religion is just a thing that man has made up to explain the unexplainable granted there are some things in the quantum physics model that some belive to be infulenced by subconchious (yea i can't spell) but new studys are comeing out that say gravity is the factor that hold realty togther

(sory abought spelling its a problem of mine)

i think you might have mistunderstood me. my faith is strong, i just believe that the creation of the world is inacurate with what the bible says. evolution is real, we have so many examples and proof that its just idiotic to say that it isnt real. the bible says god created adam and eve from dirt. when it says that it doesnt really specify exactly how he did so. science says that over time, organisims began growing in the dirt and the oceans. over time these organisms became more complex eventually leading up to humans. so thats how i believe god created man.

not exactly....

I believe that the earth and all matter has energy (which it does excluding dark matter). That energy all came from the same place in the beginning so we are all combined. Just the thought that I am apart of something so beautful amazes me. I hate being in cities cause it is just a cement jungle of the industrial side of human nature. It is so bad that we need to build parks...BUILD PARKS!!! Parks should happen naturally...anyways.

I think us as people are too self absorbed. We talk about this great being who is always watching us and how we are so precious. But how are we so precious when there is so much else in the universe? I think we need to look at how astounding everything else is around us. Don't focus on yourself, believe what you may but marvel in the differences and similarities of people and objects around you. Natural creation at its finest.

Here is what I believe: There is no god, there is no messiah, there are no prophets plugged in to some divine will. There are no saints or holy men. If there is a heaven or a hell or any other kind of afterlife, we can’t know anything about it while we’re in this life, so it’s useless to speculate and foolish to believe. Faith is an empty box. To believe in Christ is to believe in a rabbit’s foot. To believe in the Buddha is to believe that pro wrestling is real. To believe in Mohammed is to believe that the groundhog can predict spring. To believe that the Ten Commandments came from some god on a mountaintop is to believe that television psychics can talk to your dead grandmother. Allah, Jehovah and the Trinity are elves and Tinkerbells. They are no more than desperate hope given a name and anthropomorphic shape by the imaginations of frightened men.

I do not believe in any god or in any religion. I believe that religion is a way to explain the unexplainable. It is human nature to try to explain things. The Greeks did it, the Ancient Egyptions did it, and people do it today.

At least you know what kind of buddhist you are. There are so many people here in Boulder that say they are buddhist and then when you ask them what kind of buddhist they are they have absolutely no idea and have no understanding of the different kinds or even the original teachings.

No....religion was created to control people. Just think of the 10 Comandments. Now for any of you Carlin buffs you will have heard this.

Some social and political leaders one day thought of how they could control people. They knew that people were stupid and would believe anything they were told. So they one day God gave them the 10 Comandments, way up on a hill when no one was around. It told them specific things they should not ever do....

How easy was this. You get a list, put an almighty god over people's heads, and tell them that if they disobey they will go to a place of burning and torture and death and screaming for all of eternity....but god loves you!!

See, I am not shitting on religion I am showing how greedy people once again fuck with what they call the "minions" to gain more power. Good to the people that use religion as a way to improve there lives, without the money gain.

i wouldnt say that i belive in any religion but there is some form of god i suppose

Yeah i do, and i believe in christ, but think that christians as a whole have it way wrong. christ is holistic while too many focus soley on the heaven hell thought. Christ is about dealing with life, however sucky it gets, not the fake everything is good christianity that i think is presented.

NO, I think it's just something someone made up to explain something really complicated like how we got here. Kinda like the indians made up stories about how the beaver got it's flat tail or whatever.

There is no God for me. I believe in probability. Everything that has happend, happens for a reason in which we cannot explain. Creationism for me is load of fiction crap.

I've never really thought about who created anything. nor do i really care. i'm here now in the present. i don't needa worry about the past

so if God has come to mean the passage of time via science, are we still justified in worshiping a book (the Bible) that seems to make such ambiguous claims? im just asking your oppinion, not trying to be a dick.

No, I believe that religon/god/budda/whoever was made up to explain everyhting that science can't currently explain. People are scared of the unkown and religon is a way to calm those peoples fears. Also without something to follow the world would be mass confusion everyone looks to a leader or something to explain to them/give them guidance and religion is that reassuring hand on your shoulder. it helps people make it through life and conforts them it gives people something to turn to when no boday can answer their questions or comfort thier fears. I don't believe in it but i respect those who do. I don't believe in any tyoe of religion and i don't believe in a god. I think we are all here because of evolution and great luck of bringing all of the correct conditions to form us. I do not believe in an after life or ghosts and we don't have souls. we are who we are and tht is that. I do believe in aliens but that is for another topic.

i dont think its fair when parents raise their kids to believe what they believe. everyone is so individual and they should figure out things for themselves rather than be told what is right and what is wrong. and yes i think that there is a god.

can you say photoshop

but i guess i classify as agnostic and if i was going to be part of a religion i think i would be buddist because there beliefs make the most sense

I'm not a buddhist but that middle-path shit is awesome...its pretty much the only philosophy to life that seems to always work

For everyone who has said they dont believe in god which creation scenario do you believe in, because with evolution there are a lot of systems taht could not function properly at any of a more basic "stage" like the eyeball or some single celled organisms.. it gets into intelligent design
