i dont know where the animosity came from but it seems to be the general NS concensus that Freeskier magazinr blows. well i dont know about all of you but i was bored on campus, went to the bookstore and found me a copy of freeskier which was quite enjoyable.

i wish freeze had like the same bigger magazing binding or whatever, but freeskier seems to just lack content and interesting stories. i like how they do normally have better up and comers represented though. axis was the best ski mag ever.........

i like freeze. the lack of umpers, and skiercross racing is a good thing. i just like the attitude frezze has. usually the pics are sicker, and they not only cover park, but big mountain trips (the article on the TGR trip is still one of my favorite) are some of the best ive read, the formats so much more lax than powder or freeskier

tne first freeskier had way better pic than the first freeze of the year. plus freeze is a huge corporate sell out bitch ass greed driven suckfest of a magazine. While freeskier on the other hand is independant. Prefering freeze is like riding adidas skis, err I mean salomon.

I liked Freeskier until last season when most of the issues were way sub par, then the stupid skier awards about guys that drowned or fell off cliffs. That was REAL funny and smart.

The latest issue is pretty good. But did it really need to raise its magazine to 8 bucks?

Both mags are enjoyable during the off season, helps control the shakes for a moment or two then BAM reality comes crashing back in.

I find myself looking at Freeze longer and reading it more. The Freeskier mag is good, but more picture bookish I think. But i subcribe to both.

freeskier is an awesome magazine. freeze is ok, but freeze is full of a lot of unneccessary shit and is put out by a bunch of assholes that think they are the all powerful in the skiing industry.

the content in both mags is dope, but to make an accusation like that on freeze is just bogus, considering the people at freeskier are no better.

i perfer freeskier over freeze anyday...i think alot of freezes articles fall way short of anything good..especially the brad holmes parts in the mag, couldnt they replace that with a new feature, something along the lines of photo spreads of up and comers, or some more photos, anything other then brad holmes talking about whatever he talks aboutt

freeskier sells on stands for 5.99, freeze sells for 4.99. wow what a big difference considering freeze is owned by transworld and has mcdonalds paying for ads in their magazine.

i never said either was completely core, but i know after last winter the guys at freeskier were completely different from the ones at freeze.

i can see the guys at freeze being the way they were in vail at the open. they've been doing that comp at vail for a while, but when they came to okemo they walked all over us like we were nothing. its our mountain. we ski there every week during the winter not them.

when the freeskier crew came to mount snow for the jibfest they were nothing like the freeze crew. they were friendly & didn't act like they owned the place. it was rather fun being around them actually.

im not trying to sound like a punk 12 year old i just got a lil upset when people bash a magazine like freeze because its 'too corporate'. 5 years ago freeze was one of the only jib magazines out there. Now that they are bigger and more popular you shouldnt complain that they arnt hardcore enough. I know a lot of people that would rather ride salomons because they are corporate and have the money to research and improve, as oposed to one of the 4 new 'core' ski companies that started this year. not everything has to be core is all im saying

does it really matter? we all have our preferences and discussing them on the internet wont change a thing about who thinks what magazine is better. i'm sure we would all read freeze or freeskier or powder or axis if it was handed to us. stop complaining and start skiing.

i buy them both, and i suggest everyone else does the same..haha its all newschool skiing, i just always skip brad holmes part in the magazine..they really need to turn that into something new

^uh, not quite. axis was the armada\4frnt\liberty of magazines, but the analogies aren't applicable here

i like how freeze puts stickers\HH dvds\posters in their mag, i think the freestuff is worth the extra $1, even if theres not always stuff with it.

im not a big fan of holmes, very little of his stuff is funny. although i did like urban skinning. but, at the same time mosely sucks ass hardcore. brad is slightly(but not by much) better than him

oh, and freeskier does puit boobs in there, just slightly to small to see.

i like how freeze almost never has articles like 'best bars in colorado', or 'best strip clubs in colorado', or 'best _______ in colorado'. theres a lot of useless info geared towards 21 yr old guys in colorado, which none of the rest of us will ever use

Freeze > freeskier

freeskier seems more like a racing mag to me or something, just too glosy and doesnt represent our sport like Freeze does.

I'll take the freeskier side because of one thing that I thought was really cool. Last season I got my skis stolen on the first day of the season. I don't really know why, but I wrote an e-mail to both ski mags (freeze and freeskier) and told them my story. I've seen in transworld how people get hooked up for stuff like that. Well I got a reply back from Freeze. It said, too bad that happened. I also received an e-mail from Patrick Crawford (the editor of Freeskier) and he offered me a pro deal on some skis to replace mine and Freeskier would pick up the tab for bindings. How cool is that?

another issue, there was 3 jibfest stops, so therefor theres keystone this issue, and in two additional issues, u get Mount Snow Jibfest, and Aspen/Snowmass Jibfest

if they crammed all three into one, the magazine would be bible thick, haha
