plu si have never own a pair of poles does the strap come off when u remover the grip because i was think i could but soome bike grips on but i dno if tht a supid thing haha
 
Buy them cheap and paint them, no one looks at poles but you. It seems hard to scratch it off, but when you're skiing they will scratch off even with 2 or 3 coats, so don't spend too much time on them.
 
i did that and they snap so fast and the paint chip

just support the industry and get some joysticks
 
yeah you know the bamboo poles they use at the resorts? well right now i am currently using one of those as a pole.. i broke it down to the right length
 
Clever. How is it holding up though? Did you reinforce it with anything? Those bamboo rods are that strong, especially for skiing. Unless you dont ski really steep and dont plant.
 
I saw a kid with those last year... it looked kinda' funny because they were so thick, but whatever.

a couple of tele dudes at my mountain just use one really long bamboo pole. pretty sick!
 
i painted mine to look similar to joysticks. just take tape and roll it around the stick leaving about 1cm or so spaces between them. Then put strips of tape down vertically about 1cm apart as well. Then just spray with white paint, let it dry, and give it a few more coats and you're good to go.
 
go to your mountain and get some from the lost and found. they usually end up throwing them away anyway so they'll give you a few pairs for free.
 
I get cheap ones and paint them...but if u want them to look good get ready to put some good effort into them
 
get cheap poles, how much do the foil poles cost?

I go 4FRNT about $50 and rock, paint 'em if you want but they are cool
 
dont put any money into poles, unless you ski powder and need the baskets.

park poles are just as good as sticks.
 
i used to buy cheap ones, but honestly your better of just dropping 60 on a decent pair. nothing is worse than having to miss skiing cause your shit is breaking. id go with scotts, ive had mine for 2 years. whatever you do dont go armada, they are shit.
 
go to your local shop and ask them to buy some old rental poles

then take em home and pop the grips off

then put on some bmx bike grips

then take a bench sander to your poles and sand all the paint off til its nice and shiny

then paint you up some sick custom graphics

you gotcha a sick pair now chief!!!

thats what i did to mine and hey look baller

i sprayed em wit 2 coats of lime green and put tape around em in little stripes then shot it wit 2 coats of black...

they look sick!!!
