Was camping ,woke up to start vehicle but no go, screen says put fob on start button, no go,screen says fob not detected, open the door to take a dump, horn goes off uncontrollably, I'm trapped but remembered I had a spare fob battery in by the spare, put it in and everything's fine. So do this, get extra key fob batteries in case of such an incident.

They sell magnetic key holders you can put under your car for shit like this. Mine comes in handy a lot.

That's not a bad idea in case I lose the fob , could take battery out and put that in it too

I was in my car, the fob died once before and it started buy putting it on the start button, this time it wouldn't start that way, screen kept saying key fob not detected

No the contingency plan you were talking about is to put fob on start button and push ti start but car didn't detect fob , the outside of door has a slot fir tge fob key to get in but I slept in my jeep and was already in it

The sad reality is most people don't know shit about what goes on behind the dashboard and only care about cool new features. Push to start is one of those that people really loved partially because it originally was a feature mainly found on luxury and high end sports cars. Bc those silly buttons are cheap and easy to make but increased the desire to purchase that car, they started appearing all over. My mom loves it and almost never takes her fob out of her purse, but the rest of my family has traditional key starts. I can't even remotely unlock my doors lol

sometimes my keys work if i’m like 2 feet from my car. If i want to lock it i have to lock my car from the inside first then lock the drivers door.
