DO the scratches break? need help

I have heard over the last little while that the scratches break if they are skiied hard. I have candides right now and they are pretty fuckin beefy and strong, but I got scratches, both fs and bc, and I was wondering if there were any problems with them and if I should send them back. I work at a shop, so I can just throw em on the wall. anyways, i heard the binding used to pull out and i was wondering if they still have the same problems, or if they have been changed. I also saw alot of problems with chipped top sheets in whistler at the camps, anyone got anything to say? thanks bros

the binding problem was fixed but its still not a strong ski. if you ski it hard it'll break. but rossi will replace them

i got on a brand new pair up in whistler last spring i was only on them for an hour or so, when i was done they had tons of stress fractures, but it was pretty icey on the jumps that day.

I love cheetos!!

Lineskier, I doubt they will break. I'm very tough on mine and they are holding up fine.

The ones that alpental probably skied weren't the ones that you get now, that was before the binding issue was resolved etc.

yeah actually someone said that they just got them from a shop and they fixed some more of the problems. probably wont break but im just going ot wait until next season to see how they hold up cause i still dont trust them enough to rish 500+ dollars on them breaking and being out skis 6-8 weeks

if they break, you will get warranty on them. And the issues are resolved, so there are no problems anymore. Buy Them!

Some of u guys dont know what your talkin about. There are 2 different 'versions' of the scratch FS, the old and the new. The new ones have a couple lil graphic things that are different, and the new ones wont break.

arent the newer ones like a duller red or something? and the bottom is different, but i think thats it.

The entire construction of the ski is different, and there were scratches at the end of last year, the new ones have only been availiable for a few weeks, so no-one in north america has rode them yet, cause they just finished making them in spain. The new ones will not break! trust me.

got it?

good.

I think that they are already availiable in the Us. but they are not going to arrive in Vancouver for about 3 or 4 weeks. (The Bc anyways) Cause I am waiting on a new pair.

Yeah what are those graphic changes on the new ones? Cause i just got scratches 4 days ago sent in from rossi to replace my broken pow airs, so how can i tell if they are new or old?

ScratchCrew I would like to know where you get your information, cause its not true. the scratch was release late last season for customers. It is the Exact same ski that you can get in stores now. The only thing that I can see you talking about is the skis that Tanner and such were using last season. and yes, i have herad that those scratchs were not holding up. I personaly got a pair last feb right after demo days(shop demos, im an employee.) and i have beat the shit out of them ever sence and have absoltly no probs with them at all.

no dude i talked to the rossi rep in cow town, and he says they are alot different. instead of having a vertical THC core like the boards, they changed them to have a diagnolly crossed THC core, way stronger than before. they also put a new plate in cause the bindings were ripping out. the top sheet is dull instead of shiny, and they have mini logoes which are kinda shadows on the top sheet. that are bomb proof now.

Vtrider, YOU do not know what you are talking about.

Trust me when I tell you this info, cause I am not getting this information from a rumor or some shit. I know what I am talking about. If you have any questions, send me a message.

thank you.

Is it snowing yet? rain sucks.

guys im telling you that i have those exact skis and i got them last march. they are exactly the same as the ones that just came in this week in out shop. graphics and every are the same. i think you must be mixing up the skis before the released them to the public. the prefebuary scratchs were pretty week and had a tendency to break, but that is how you make a ski, through r and d.

Ok, Vtrider, does the topsheet on your scratches have a glossy finish to them like every other ski out there? Or does it have the new gummy dull looking topsheet like the new ones that were made in spain over the summer? Cause they definetly made a new and different ski for this season.

i dont know, both my skis and the new ones that just came in our at my shop. but i will check this week. Ohh and by the way, i am not trying to argue with you, even though thats how it sort of came off. this is just what i have heard from our rossi rep.

new ones have a duller topsheet and a hollographic type r thing near the bottom (rossi logo) and they can be found in canada, I saw a pair at sport check in calgary

OK i just got of the phone with my boss (who is a rossi rep for washington) this is the bottom line on the scratches.......

last spring there were a limited number (about 700) of scratches released to certain shops and reps, during the month of may there was a massive recall on the scratches because the ski was missing a mounting plate, all but around 70 of the skis were acounted for( being the people that didnt want to replace them)then the ski was rerelesed to the people with the same topsheet (glossy) in the next month people complained about stress cracks in the top sheet (thats was the last of the problems, now that the scratch is avalible to the public it has a matt(dull) topsheet and the difference is in the tip and tail. the yellow side wall that use to go all the way around the tip is now black just at the tip and tail, the skis are bomb proof now and if you do buy the glossy ones the ONLY problem you may have is the stress cracks, and if that happens you CAN warrenty them,

you shouldnt have and ? left

Mine are duller, and the same as the ones that just got onto the shelfs. they have the hologram logo on one of the tails too. the only thing that is differant is the ones on the shelfs have 2 mounting lines, one solid and one dotted. the one thing that shawnm1260 said is that they were released in may...but i got mine at the end of febuary. what skis do i have? there not glossy, they are dull in color. and the have the holograms. Im not really worried though, cause if anyone has ever delt with rossi before, they know that there warentty rules(2 years for a rossi/rossi package) and it is quick too. i broke a set of XX's last year and have a brand new pair within a week. it also helps that the rossi distarbution center is only about 2 hours away. anyway its sort of a stupid thing that we are argueing about here folks. lets just all shut up and ride :)

What are the real sizes of sratch fs? I have read that they are 164, 172, 180 and I have read that they are 168, 174, 180 too. And what are the real sidecuts? I have read about different sidecuts in different sizes.

actually i said there was a RECALL in may, but the ones that have two mounting lines and are dull are bombproof, there are only 70 or so ones left with binding problems, the only problems left are with the glossy ones and they will pressure crack just like the dynastars

no worrys about scratches anymore

shawn
