Do sponsered skiers get drug tested

Hey, guys, ill be beginging a search for sponsors by next winter but i gotta prepare myself a bit...do sponsors drug test? Or is it good to smoke that fat sack tomorrow
 
yeah, i know they get drunk and shit-which i am now. but do they get DT's...tanner H miust smoke up but they can afford to get masking shit and such for tests

its freestyle skiing, run by mostly really cool, non serious people, not football run by fags. nobody gives a shit if you smoke or anything in skiing.
so no ski companies do not give drug tests.
 
ive heard of people being drug tested at comps and stuff but it may have just been their team not the actual comp organizers.
 
after all these years of me thinking it was because i suck, i finally find out why i am not a pro
 
Actually I've heard of snowboarders being drug tested, I could see it happening to skiers who ride for big companies like target or something.
 
ok first off, unless you are an up and coming pro and just want a sponsor ship, dont worry about it. and secondly if you are so worried dont do drugs
 
i know 5 people, max, in the whole ski industry who dont smoke weed on a daily basis. i heard they might start testing for like FIS pipe comps, but only people with aides do those anyways
 
do you know how many swiss pro's would be kicked out? actually, there would be NO sponsored skiers if they tested.
 
the first time I went on a photoshoot with a team the manager was smoking everyone up. so to answer your question, no, skiers do not get drug tested.
 
Pro skiers getting drug tested? Hahahahahaha good one! The industry would crumble. Seriously, they do drug test for the Olympics, but I think its random (not everyone) or if there is suspicion. You may not know this but skiing and smoking have gone hand in hand since our great great grandparents time. Drug testing...hahahahahaha!
 
Colby doesn't drink or smoke either, only the bubbly that they give him when he podiums. It's just way better for your body if don't drink or smoke, and you feel better when you compete. That's what vaporizers are for!
 
a couple of my snowboard friends had to stop smoking for a little while because apparently you had to take drug tests for the grand prix or something
 
no but they should be, its sad when the people who represent our sport are drunk and stoned half the time, what does that say to parents and kids looking to join up? Nothing like having role models you know are constantly drunk and high.
 
It all depends on what kind of sponsorship you have. a lot of pro contracts say that you can't do drugs while competing or even skiing for that matter, so you sign saying you agree. I don't think they are gonna kick you off the team for smoking weed, but they might not sponsor a pot head, and I don't think that blazing while you ski helps out your career too much.
 
So true, I have asthema and idk how I would survive skiing if I smoked. It winds you so much esp high altitudes.
 
Why? Because I believe in a moral system and structure? So I'm an idiot because I don't like to smoke pot? And don't think its good for key people in our sport and that represent it are stoned or drunk and everyone else has to see it? You think that makes our sport looks good to everyone else?

Holson, Yes it was a bit harsh. And your right, there are a good number who don't represent our sport in that manner, but truth be told there are still plenty who do that others outside our community notice it. Yes its in every sport, but skiing is smaller, and its more noticed when even 3-4 athletes would represent our sport in this way.

I'm sorry I think drugs are retarded, and chose not to be wasted any days of the week. I dont find it necessary to have fun. If you have to drink or smoke, just to have something to do, do you think your life is that awesome? I'm not saying people shouldn't smoke or drink, i dont condem them for it. I just think there should be a higher level of responsibility in the public spotlight for the sport and various community of the sport.

It's like some things freeskier used to post up for every story. It has much improved by the way. They'd have like 30 some pictures of everyone being drunk and partying and 3 skier shots(the podium, one jump, one rail). Like i noted...They dont do this anymore but used to.

 
Some are tested to make sure they are THC positive..... JK, but i am agree with jeff lowe IF skiers are getting high, correction, WHEN skiers are getting high they should try to keep it on the super DL from the youngins
