Do some skiers get really cocky and think they are the best?

To answer your question, yes. But before you generalize all skiers as cocky and arrogant remember that this happens in everything; you will always find a bad example in anything you can look at.
 
pfft patrick melvin (melvs) is pretty cocky. he claims EVERYTHING. getting on the chairlift? putting his goggles on? face planting on a flat box? yeah he claims it.
 
haha there is steryotypical jock in my school he is soooo cocky and always talks about how good at sports he is and how much better he is than everyone else at everything, but the sad truth is everyone hates him he is sort of fat and he doesnt have any real friends.
 
I deal with them alllll the time in track. The best part is the really good kids aren't cocky because they don't have to tell people they are better than them, the people know already. But, the shitty kids talk so much trash because htey are all so insecure.
 
wrong. the cockyness is pretty much even between both. we dont need this argument again on snowboarders vs skiers.
 
I know I suck I don't have a problem with it so I don't care. Let them be cocky and do whatever then when they fuck up call them on it.
 
watching people be cocky is the funniest thing of all time. cockiness is just them lying to themselves, and eventually they will get cut down
 
where the fuck do you ski? yea there are places that are full of the rich brats who are still being potty trained by there mom's, but i wouldn't say thats the majority. i think most of us either live next to, or work at the mountain, and thats why we ski so much, not becuase we bitch to our mommies to get season passes and new gear. but as said before in another post, every sport has its richy cliche who claims everything, and then there are the chill peeps.

and im not steriotyping(sp) rich people, cause i know a few chill kids that have dough.

ME, however, well. i am not cocky whatsoever, because i KNOW, as well as all of you poor souls, that i AM the best. this is a fact and is non negotiable.

actually i weigh almost 200 pounds (im 6'1'' and have been lifting a lot of weights for the past couple months in my fitness class) and no body picks on me at school
 
we have a few of them at my mtn. but really, i dono for the most part everyone is super chill and humble. the best skiers tha ti know.. dont at ALL act like they are as good a skier as they actually are. meh. you jus thave to ignore it tho. if u give attention to the stuff they are saying they just get all the more cocky
 
People in any sport or profession or hobby get cocky. It's not just cause they're skiers, it's because some people are just cocky to begin with.
 
btw, would you little bitches stop arguing.

"jocks" as you refer to them, or athletes for us normal people aren't always cocky. That's just another stereotype.

In any event, being cocky is lame and only kills that awesome vibe you feel when everybody is out there havin fun doing what they love and supporting each other
 
tanner hall things hes hot shit. hes good, but i hate his attitude. a good ass kicking would set him straight. i know im gonna take heat for this, but i just dont like him. he needs to grow up. i appreciate what hes done for the skiing community and somewhat of its image. but damn dude, your white.
