Do snowboaders hit chads or pyramid?

the double cork was over pyramid, but bjorn leines threw a cab 9 over chads same year as tanner did. and dirksen threw some sort of 9 over pyramid a whiile ago, ad thats why some snowboarders refer to pyramid as dirksen's gap. the year that rice threw the douvle cork over pyramid was the first year snowboarders hit chads

no offense dude but travis rice's double cork ten was definetly at chad's. there was some intervew with him about it on the dc shoes website and i think they mentioned it when he was at winter x

actually wrong. Lots of ppl think they did but they didnt. Heres a whole article on it from powdermag.

Urban legend has it that the Michigan City Mine in Alta’s Grizzly Gulch was supposedly haunted when local cook Chad Zurinskas went on a little vision quest. He eventually found himself lying on the road between two mine tailing piles and a mine. At the same time, filmmaker Kris Ostness was living in another abandoned mine near the area. It was there the two of them came up with the idea for jumping the distance between the piles. Hmmm. The snowboarding community credits Travis Rice with the first clearing of the jump and defecates on the skier’s version. (see www.dcshoes.com/home; click on view all James Lipton commercials, Travis Rice).

Benson’s tale sounds more believable: Pro-snowboarder Andy Brewer had scouted the location, told Chad and Brent about it, and said, “You think you can clear that nipple?” They, along with Candide Thovex and Ostness, headed up. Brent turned to Chad and said, “Well, you think you can clear it?” Chad said, “Yup, no problem.” Then “guinea pigged” twice into the wall.

Thovex stepped up, crashed once and then stuck the first-ever landing of Chad Gap’s- sailing about 100 feet with a mute grab – to the awe of all in attendance. Motivated, and a few days later, Chad succeeded on his third attempt and Benson got the shot seen ‘round the world.

After Ostness filmed Chad clearing the Gap for his film Clay Pigeons, he dubbed it “Chad’s Gap.” “I preferred The Nipple,” said Benson. Soon readers and viewers had seen Chad’s Gap in action and wanted a piece. “The pictures blew everything else away. They hadn’t seen anything like that,” said Benson. “Back then, it was a crappy five-foot long take-off and crappy five-foot landing. We had no idea what we were doing. Then all the nutswingers like TGR came down and started shooting it.” Today, the ramp is a 14-foot buffed ski run that leads to a 120-foot soar on big days. “There have always been ‘gap jumps’, just like there have always been ‘extreme skiers’,” said Ski To Live Coach Kristen Ulmer. “But Chad’s Gap started the craze.”Urban legend has it that the Michigan City Mine in Alta’s Grizzly Gulch was supposedly haunted when local cook Chad Zurinskas went on a little vision quest. Sorry man but you are incorrect. The first trick in Rice's segment in POP was a double cork 10 over Pyramid. There was large season with alot of the Absinthe crew one day at Pyramid when Rice threw this down. Later on in the season (in april) Travis and Romain De Marchi went and hit Chads. They both got up to 7 variations but nothing close to double corks. The next year at Chad's Bjorn Leines threw a switch 9 during the same season when Tanner nailed his own switch 9. No double corks have been landed by a skier or snowboarder on Chads yet.

Well I'm more for the whole style side of skiing but seriously double cork 10 is WAY sicker than cab 9. They're not even close to being on the same level. It's not like tanners cab 9 on chads was mad steezy. How many people can do cab 9? 1000s, I can do cab 9. How many people can do double cork 10? maybee a dozen

hahah better what are you talking about JP walker did a double cork 10 tripping mush over chads i would say that they're equal but i would like to see someone duplicate everything i just said on skis

Your a kook Travis double corked Pyramid, Tanner has biggest trick over Chads so far. Travis B/s 5d chads and did some other shit but no rotations over 7.

NO WAY! That's totally Chad's gap. They always shoot it from the same side, with the same background, from the same angle. And yes, he did throw a double cork 10. We played that all season in the shop I worked at.

Hope you're being ironic. The double cork was on Pyramid.

IT_SNOWED: Do a search in the pictures section for "chad's", you'll see.

Okay, from now on anyone who claims that Rice double cork 10d chads is banned. I'm not even kidding.

Okay yeah I am. But just stop it. I have POP sitting right in front of me and it's pyramid. Let me repeat that: the double cork 10 was over PYRAMID. NOT CHADS. If I have to call T-rice and get him to give us all a sound bite I'm going to crash this website, so don't make me fucking do it.

Great movie by the way. I (heart) absinthe.

And as I'm sure someone mentioned, Candide did Chad's first, with Ostness.

Actually there are LOTS of things skiers have done before boarders since snowboarding came around. Schmidiots, Fot Pete's sake, flips off the palisades....straightlines of Eagle's nest. Snowboarders may have done alot of tricks first, but skiers have pioneered alot more lines. Sliding rails really does not compare to hitting schmidiots. It took boarders until last year to do that, 22 years after Scott Schmidt first stepped up.

trice db corked 10 over pyramid and bs 5 sw bs 5 cab 5 cab 7 bs 7 and bs rodeo 7 over chads. romain pulled a bs 180 and sw chicano flip over chads with trice. bj lienes did his cab nine when thall did his.

i dunno why you all are argueing, chads and pyramid(as discussed in another thread) are the same fucking gaps.... you fucking tools

absinthe films' pop. trice has the end section and romain has the opening section. they are both mindblowing. romain's double line at teh end of his part is prob more impressive than trice on chad's. it could be on youtube possibly.

Honestly it doesn't really matter that much. As long as someone out there is progressing the sport, you all should be happy.

you people are fucking idiots!!!

take it from somebody who is up in grizzly like 30 fucking times a season. T Rice does the dbl 10 over pyramid. that is it end of discussion. and to the kid who said they are the same, are you kidding me. they are so noticably different it isn't even funny.

ok here is some more.

Chads:

candide d 7

T switch 5 and 9 in teddy bear

sage has done some 3's and 7's over it and some backies

charles gagner tried chads but hits the wall

Tanner crashes on chads

Romain and t rice hit chads in pop and do no more than a 7 over it.

the shot of romain going HUGE is on chads

Pyramid or dirksen (for boarders)

trice dbl cork 10

tanner switch 9 in pop your bottles

biollo both 7's in pyb

wylie miller 5 in last years movies

nikolas karlstrom dbl backie

kye hit pyramid too

Shit everybody hits pyramid. there are too many to tell you.

basicly if you are looking at chads gap and you can see the entire gap in the shot from right to left take off to landing and you can see down the canyon it is chads.

if you can see down the canyon with takeoff on right and landing on left then it is pyramid.

ok

do you all understand that now.

end of this.

J.Lo

gagnier had a shot in the chads gap in redtape, a 3 I think... and he didnt hit the wall on that shot...

im sorry but there are so many stupid people in this thread. stop repeating thigns you hear with such attitude when you dont know what youre tlaking about
