Do I need new boots?

So I just started skiing hard last season, was building up to 540s before I dislocated my shoulder and sprained my ankle screwing up a jump and ended my season in late Feb. I had crappy equipment, I got new skis/bindings already, first twin tips (I was going/landing backwards on non-twins, pretty stupid I guess) and now I'm thinking I might need new boots too. The old ones are Koflach SC3s, if anyone's even heard of them, and they fit me alright but probably not great. So, does it make sense to drop $triple digits$ on new boots? Thanks for reading/responding.

Good fitting boots are arguably the most important piece of ski equipment you will own.

If you have the bank, i'd definitely see a proper bootfitter and get the job done right, custom footbeds and all. You won't regret it and anyone that has their own boots which fit well, will tell you the same..

I already have crap boots, so if I don't get decent ones at least, I'll just keep these. Am I going to risk hurting myself more with bad boots, though? If that's true, I'll scrape up the cash for sure. Is it cheaper to get boots this time of year and not winter?

If you get boots from last year you can get some pretty sick deals. I just got some spk's for 300 new. Like the other guys said just go to a shop and get the best boot you can afford and that fits. And now there is more selection of next years stuff so go now before the season really starts. Thats my opinion anyways.
