Do i buy tramp skis

wsg

I really want to get tramp skis and would get a lot of use out of them for several years and would still be able to resell them afterwards but its 483 canadian dollars. I dont have trampoline but i would use them to practice rails and at my friends house who does have a tramp. However i just earned a bunch of money (by my 14 yo standards) from working and would still have 189 left after buying them. I have spent a while earning and saving for something i really want and this has kept crossing my mind. So i came up with 3 options:

1: I dont buy them and continue to not be able to train during off season aside from weight training and rowing.

2: I get reemployed and make anywhere from 30%-80% of the price of them to dampen the high price. and option

3: I just buy it cause ive already worked hard for this money and i'll still have a decent amount of money in my account for everyday things i might want to get, and i can still earn money after that too

I can also try to find discount codes or wait for a sale but every day that goes buy waiting for a sale is a day i could be practicing rails with these

Since ive spent so long saving and working i really want to make the right choice with my money and not buy something i will not fully value.

what would u all say is the best option

They aren’t worth it and you don’t need them to get better at tramp over the summer. Plus you could build a legit summer set up for way less than 500 bucks

I used to really like my tramp skis. Mine were homemade and broke constantly but honestly you should go for it I used to have a lot of fun using them.

Others have said it, save your cash and make something. Keep at it making money and buy some new park/all mountain skis or even some new boots when your feet quit growing.

If you have the space to build a summer setup in your yard, I'd recommend putting the money toward that instead. I had a setup for years and I really miss being able to hike rails with my friends all summer. It was super fun and I learned so many new tricks on that setup. Always thought that was the best off season training we could do aside from tramping.

If you don't have the space for a ramp/rail setup, tramp skis are probably the next best thing to scratch the skiing itch. But, as others have mentioned, you can probably find a much cheaper DIY version. If not, pull trigger on the purchase! You clearly earned that for yourself. Enjoy!

dude summer is basically over. save your money for some real skis etc. the tram skis are kinda silly IMO and there are other ways to train. as others said even other ways to tramp ski without buying special tramp skis. as far as getting reemployed you should do that for sure unless it is going to impact your ability to do school or some sort of important school activity. prioritize your school first above any high school job

Most skiers get good from regular trampoline practice, tramp skis look annoying for stuff beyond spins

4 skinny pool noodles, old pair of shoes, duct tape, and then you have yourself a set of tramp skis.

Cut an old skateboard in half. Duct tape some old shoes to the middle. Wrap circumference in duct tape. Wrap the rest in duct until it looks like it wont poke ur tramp

boom tramp skis

You can trampoline all year unless there's snow on the ground, I used to get out of school and rip trampoline for 6 hours straight every day lol

Unless you're desperate and poor, get em. I spent my emergency savings on a mountain bike 7 years ago. I still rip the bike, have sooo much fun, and have plenty of money. You'll make plenty eventually, so it won't be a big deal.

Buy some rollerblades, build a rail from pvc pipe, make tramp skis from anything you can find for cheap. You can do this all for a similar price to paying for the tramp skis.

Practicing rails with tramp skis will get old real quick. Rollerblading will cross train you and is really fun in its own right. Like other people have said in the comments you can build tramp skis from other things that don't cost $400.

Having owned them, can confirm that while they are fun, they are not worth it. 200% not worth it if you don’t have a trampoline.

Other things you can spend money on in the “off season” that will make you better:

1: a trampoline

2: sessions somewhere that has a trampoline

3: blades

Or, as mentioned, you can save your money for skis. Season’s right around the corner.

Those things are deadly. I've got a pair and they kinda suck if you don't have an Olympic tramp (those big white tramps) to train on. If you bail on a flip and land on your back they are almost guaranteed to hit you in the face, they catch on stuff, and the are super tiring to spin and jump with for more than 5 minutes. The only thing they are good for is rail training, but that's nothing you couldn't do with $50 childrens skis taped to some shoes. Save your money!

Waste of money lmao. Will 100% not help you learn tricks in any way. About as useful as spinning around on a curb in sneakers to "practice" rail tricks. Build a dry slope, learn to skate, bike, wing foil, etc.

Hell, find a rotting 2x4 and go at that mf with a running start. Glue cutting boards to your shoes and show the locals at the skate park how cool you are. Skis slide on almost any slope when steep enough, so find a roof and a pile of leaves for a cheap alternative to airbag training. Bonus points for nailing an x factor ramp to the edge.
