Do braces hurt when you get them out?

They hurt like a bitch. They inject you with morphine to help with the pain.

Not at all. They just scrape the glue off your teefs and you're good. Don't lose your retainer. I lost that shit and my teefs shifted, not bad but kinda dumb on my part after years of braces.

Enjoy not having shit stuck in your teeth and not destroying your lip if you get hit in the face. They did save my teeth once though. Got hit in the face with a baseball and my teeth would have been gone if the wires weren't there. Fucked them up but good shit.

Also enjoy not looking like a 12 year old anymore.
 
Make sure you wear your retainer bro. If you dont your teeth will go back to the same shit pile they were before.
 
I remember they had to drill off the glue they used to hold the braces on with... so that was a bitch
 
Same here....went face first into a concrete floor, and if I hadn't have had braces I would have lost my top front 4 teeth. Lol
 
My recommendation is to go home after and eat all the caramel apples you eat. Also have some pop corn if you didn't have any while you had your braces. Those were the things I missed the most when I had my braces.
 
That little drill is a bitch, the squealing noise it makes sends chills through my body. I got mine offer 6 years ago, and I'm not sure if they still do this, but they put a metal lace on the back of my front top and bottom teeth. They had to stay on for two years, too.
 
it kinda hurts when they have to like grind off the glue part some. But your teeth will feel like the smoothest thing ever!
 
instead of a removable retainer, get one of these. I have these and I barely notice them, can eat whatever the fuck I want without problems (ok, it came out once when I had a caramel apple), and you can never lose them. highly recommend

Trust me this is great... I only got this for my bottom and used a removable one for my top... Yea I kinda just stopped wearing my retainer after like 2 years for my top. You really can not notice it at all, and no1 can see it unless they are examining your mouth.
 
Have had a pallet expander, braces, and the rest of the dental works in my early teens. Never got pain killers as mentioned above as they were never necessary. Be prepared for the most liberating feeling ever. It doesn't hurt. It does feel fairly strange when they grind off the cement, and your teeth almost feel slimy when you first get them off because you can actually feel the whole tooth.
 
doesnt hurt- only thing that kinda sucks is the thing they use to get the glue off- really loud and is mad irritating- but then your teeth feel super smooth, and you dont have to worry about cutting your gums to shit when something hits your face
 
My friend was on the pegs of his bike not using handlebars going downhill and pretty much scraped his mouth on the ground all the way down the rest of the hill. His front 4 or 5 teeth came out but his braces kept them in his mouth so they just popped them back in while he was in the ambulance.
 
My teeth hurt as much as they did when I first got braces on. They hurt for weeks after getting them off. And drilling the glue off? That's nothing.
