I mean those blind from birth. And if they do, is it only in auditory or do they actually see stuff. How would they know what color is and stuff?

Sorry, I'm really high

they probly imagine hearing people they know saying things, and probly not people they dont know, who knows tho, i know there are no blind people on this site cause of obvious reasons

i have a lot of respect for blind people, knowing what it is to see, if i ever lost my sight, i dont think id have any drive left

die.

yeah, if i were handicapped, id definitely just shoot myself... and if i were blind id just go for a drive... on pain killers.

yeah, sometimes they can, but it depends on where the blindness is ie, eyes, or visual cortex.

Do you think because of their condition those with active optic nerves see stuff? If the nerve can still function and its solely a corneary thing, the nerve should still send the visual impulses to the brain, right?

Theres a blind girl here at school and I have endless respect for her. GOing away to school, memorizing the whole campus and living away from her parents and taking care of her dog herself, thats awesome

they'd just dream about things they do. Like, a person could make out the shape of something through feeling it, then visualize it. The shape wouldn't be exactly the same, but still.

blind people dream just like anyone else. if they have never had any sight, they will 'see' the way they picture things in their mind. if they had sight at one point, they will make things up off of that. our brains are fuckin weird. thats why i do LSD so that my brain isnt so complicated anymore

man thats a fucked up question.

from what i know if someone is blind from birth they will not see in tehir dream becasue they dont know what seeing is and hence cant interpret it. but they dream by feeling and hearing. So if they dream that they get like ounched or something they may feel liek they got punched. But if someone goes blind they will have sight in their dreams for a limited amont of time before it fades away becasue they body simply forgets how to interpret sight.

Also something interesting ive found out is that when someone goes blind they immediatley begin to lose the ability to liek picture what something looked like. FOr instance if a blind person thinks of a square it is almost impossible for them to picture it in their mind.

(trust me, the '' things aren't actually there)

I don't think they can 'see' anything in their dreams except random colors and spots and stuff like everybody else sees when they don't dream...

On my way to goddom

I don't see why they wouldn't dream when they slept, even if they don't see/interpret things that same way that we all do, I'm sure they ''see'' something. I mean, think about how your body makes up for losing a sense by making the remaining senses that much more sensative.

I would think their dreams are more based on their remaining senses.

But what I wonder is would the blind people who can do echolocation ''see'' things differently in their dreams. - (BTW there was a show recently called Beyond Human and it featured a guy that developed a way for humans to use echolocation, so this is possible)

My biopsych teacher said they dream in the auditory..but didn't have an answer when I asked him if the optic nerve was still active, he's gonna try to find out for me
